I've got a '44 Jeep with a SBC in it on CJ5 axles that drives like that. Mash the gas and it lifts and goes left, let off and it dives a little and goes right.

One of the racers said it is so well balanced that once it spins, it spins forever.

Also mentioned that the chassis was lacking in stiffness.

Notice how he "just happened" to have his Breadvan parked in the background...

If I had a Breadvan it would just happen to be in every single picture I ever showed everyone no matter the subject!

It's actually "the" Breadvan. There was only one ever made. Pretty interesting story, too. I had the pleasure of seeing it race at the Goodwood Revival last fall.

From what little I know about it, I think I recall that as being one of the advantages it had over a "standard" 250 GTO. Lots of other little improvements as well, like placement of the engine/transmission further back and lower, etc. The Breadvan apparently beat the 250 GTO's most times they met on track.

IMO, far sexier than the cobra. I can't imagine driving one. Holy hell, drum brakes! I'd love to give one a shot. I'll bet it would be a great commuter car! That's the best footage/sound that I've ever seen of one driven/running.

There was one locally on FBMP a few months ago. It was in pieces. Not everything was there. IIRC price was high 5 figures.

I was working the BRIC over at Road America many years ago and was wondering around down by the RA Center one evening after we were done and was still in my worker whites, when I came upon a couple of guys working on a Cheetah. It was up on stands and since it is still a favorite car from when I was playing with HO scale race cars back in the 60's, I had to stop and crawl around it. They were more than happy to show me everything and explain it since I am a worker who is eager to ask knowledgeable questions. Yup, the driveshaft is really short. The owner told me to get in, but sadly, with my size 15 boots on I didn't even want to attempt to wedge myself in on account I doubt I could get out very well. I spent an hour with them, thank them for their time.
