Back into skiing again?

Back into skiing again? This time, it's 40-year old Lindsey Vonn WTH? With her history of crashes/injuries/surgeries (and now, age!) I don't see this ending well. I guess the FIS is handling out favorable starting spots to former champions like Vonn, so there's that. But what does she expect to accomplish? I just don't see her being competitive. She couldn't beat Mikaela 10 years ago, much less now. Maybe she's got a big fat sponsor lined up??

Since my daughter ski races, and I post photos, Facebook algorithms have had me getting a lot of Vonn content in my feed over the past few years.

As a pure observer, she’s jealous that Michaela beat her record and she has an axe to grind. Maybe the oldest competitor to win a FIS event is what she’s going for? Who knows?

I wish Vonn well.

I still love seeing Michaela race and win - she’s incredible.

She looks to be in great shape.

She’s racing against 16 year olds in FIS. She may have the stamina and strength but there is the fearlessness of kids in their teens that she won’t have.

Well, it will be somewhat entertaining to watch. I guess she has to make the team first. And then she'll probably cherry-pick a few events. I'd be surprised if she does any Downhill and are the fast-twitch muscles still adequate to compete in Slalom? We shall see
