I think I can count all the times I have eaten at Taco Bell on one hand.
I was just thinking about rides and fast food. One place that didn't suck was Wendys, but... it listed the calories which bummed me out. I had just ridden all day and the Kcal was a break even! (not that any of the others would have been any different)

Sometimes the long rides just drain all my energy and will. A short stop with a bit of hot food is all it takes go get home. We maybe at the 70 mile mark with 3000' of rolling hills and that dirty tacos got me home and my energy perk back up just enough to get back to one of the guy's house where our care were parked. The heck with the calories, give me that damn coke or 7 up too.

TB is fine, though not as cheap as it was, as long as you manage your expectations. That's road-trip food for us now and then when the jerky and (black, duh) twizzlers run out.

Now Arbys... Had my first in 20y and you can be sure that it'll be 25y more for the next time. I'll stick with gas station, or supermarket if you're in fancy-town, "sushi".

Once I realized that you can get a (whatever size) cheeseburger _with green chile_ at McDs here in New Mexico - that's an OK biweekly or so splurge!

^^^ Have you ever tried Arby's fish sandwich?
It's the only thing I ever get from there and it's great.

"The one I had today was the first one in a year or two. It was very good, but it was a little different from earlier fish sandwiches there. They also renamed it a Fish Deluxe sandwich and added a slice of cheese...ala McD's.
The earlier version just had lettuce and tartar sauce...it was better that way".

I wouldn't think Nolan Ryan would have enough meat on his bones to sustain a FF place for very long.

Taco Bell food is bland and cardboard-like. Even the hot sauce is just blandly hot. I had some crispy tacos and a fajita from a food cart yesterday, it was pretty mediocre, but still better than Taco Bell.

The only fast food I sometimes crave is KFC, and I have a KFC binge once a year, not more, because I often feel poorly afterwards.

On roadtrips, I'll look for Carls Jr, whose burgers are at least better than McDonalds, the Taco Bell of burger joints. But I don't feel great after eating a Carls Jr burger either.

The only fast food place I might eat semi-regularly at is Subway, either the tuna or Black Forest ham subs. Relative to other fast food, it is less caloric.

These things are decent at TBell. I actually like Cronchy tacos as well but that is a kinda guilty pleasure knowing full well they arnt decent food.

Tacobell near my work is right next to a very good texmex place and have to pass a decent authentic mexican place to get there, I still go very occasionally when the mood strikes.

I like the TB crunchy tacos, I think the shells are very tasty. Everything inside is only designed to make one part of the shell soft while the other stays crisp making for a nice texture dichotomy. I like the Fire sauce too.

Go in one for 2-3 tacos maybe twice a year.

Power Bowl, available with chicken or "steak". About 7$ and 500 Cal, pretty decent light lunch actually. Available at most TB I believe but kinda hidden on the menu

Really the only dishonest thing about the pic, is the Guac. It aint chuncky/fresh as depicted but on the whole its not terrible, and much less regret than baconsheezeburger and friles alternative.

I searched the online menu of the TB closest to me....not on there. They might not have it updated.
I'll stop by the drive thru and ask. The chicken is the one I'd want.

I've never had a problem with TB Guac.
