Evil Kawalski
O.k., most of here are children of the '60's and '70's. I'm sure we all remember when everyone wasn't so uptight about off color jokes poking fun at different ethnicities. Hell, we still tell Irish jokes, all in good fun (we had a great time exchanging them right here on St Paddy's Day). We all remember the ubiquitous "Pollack joke". How many Pollacks does it take to screw in a lightbulb? and harmless nonsense like that. I hope this can be taken in that spirit, I certainly do not mean to offend anyone.
Well, one of those was the Pollack jumping his school bus, or garbage truck, or whatever over 20 motorcycles. Poking fun at Evil Knievel, of course. Well, I'll be - someone actually did it! How this escaped my notice until now is beyond me.

Back in the 70s at my first job, I got one of my buddies a job work with me. His last name was Karolczyk, and was very smart. I would tell him Polack jokes, and he had usually already heard it, but would tell me some new ones. In high school he was taking college courses in calculus, and physics. He ended up becoming an attorney, and even a state senator in Arizona.
My like Aggie jokes, usually they laugh at the silly jokes as well.

I’ve heard a lot of funny jokes in my life but they lose something in the written word because so much is in the proper telling of a joke.
In Minnesota, we have a sub-genre of Scandinavian jokes. They have to be told with an absolutely straight face in order to land. A sample: [Ole came home from work and found his wife, Lena, in bed with his best friend, Sven. “Oh look at Sven…he’s so drunk, he thinks he’s me.” ![]() |

Which reminds me of this one...
On his first day in prison, a guy hears other inmates occassionaly yell out a number, which is then followed by a bunch of laughter. He asks his cellmate about it and is told that everyone's heard the same jokes so many times, that instead of re-telling the whole joke again, guys will just call out its number instead. Wanting to fit in, the new guy calls out a number too, but only gets crickets. "How come nobody laughed at my joke?", he asks his cellmate. "Must've been the way you told it..."

I saw that bus jump when it was first aired. I thought it was awesome then, and it still is. I love how the whole front wheel assembly sheared off.
