Thanks . So far I have found a lazy drivers door lock mechanism, it will lock if I hold down the door lock button but not with the remote . Also I think the front tires are hitting the fender liners when turning . May have to raise the front a little .

I looked online for a remote FOB as it only came with one . Prices ranged from 5 bucks to 40 bucks and they can be programmed/synced by the truck following a simple procedure . The Porsche's are about 300.00 :( . I know it's not an apples to apples comparison but I like the more reasonable price :D

Right, instead of the Porsche tax, you're getting the Chevy tax-deduction. I remember that when I had the miata, and I could get 4 tires or 4 wheels or 4 bilsteins for $400-600. Granted, that was 10-15 years ago, and prices have probably all changed. Now one rear tire on the boxster is ~$400 at Tire Rack. Tires like I would have put on my miata are ~$600-750 for a set of 4.

That’s a nice looking truck. Congratulations.

That conversion had to be a kit and not piecemeal. That upper radiator hose looks like it was manufactured to fit or custom-made, to fit around the air filter.

Stock hose from a Silverado. Its amazing how many stock truck parts will work. My v8 S10 uses hoses, belt and accessories from a 96 truck.

Well she's legal 😋 . Called my insurance and added it with basic coverage . Then went to DMV and 10 minutes later all good . Title will come in the mail in 7-14 days . I am heading out now to fill the tank and enjoy the beautiful day .

Great looking S-10!

What wheels are those? Size? They look great. And it looks like you could raise the front a little without any negative effect on looks, it would still be low and more level.

Nice score.

I'm from Minnesota, so you're preaching to the choir wrt driving in snow and ice but most of my friends did not drive their muscle cars in the winter. Everyone had a rusty $8.00 car for that.

The wheels are 18 " not sure on the width . The tires are 245/45R18 on all 4 corners . I have to look at the front suspension and see how it was lowered . I am assuming shortened coil springs ? I think an increase of 1 " in ride height in the front would be perfect .

speeder 05-31-2024 01:31 PM

If they simply cut the coils, all you would need to do is get some stock front springs and cut them a little less. Someone might make good aftermarket springs for it but they would need to account for the V-8 in order to arrive at the right height.

LJ851 05-31-2024 03:29 PM

Quite possibly could have dropped spindles on the front.

The clean install of the V8 leads me to believe the suspension drop was done right . Meaning drop spindles were used . I will have to get it on my lift and look for part numbers or manufacturer names .

Steve Carlton 05-31-2024 03:47 PM

What if you call the previous owner and see what he says. How does the front suspension feel? Good spring and damping rates? It does look 1-2" low. What's causing the tires to rub? Too low, too soft, too wide for the truck?

rfuerst911sc 06-02-2024 02:39 AM

Yesterday I did a quick interior detail and started learning more . Tires are Blackwell brand and 480 tread wear rating . I didn't measure the wheels but they look like 8 " wide . All lights work except the roof mounted brake light . One of the two bulbs is burnt out . Amazon to the rescue :D . I ordered a kit that has a new lense ( existing is cracked ) and two LED bulbs for $16.00 and being delivered today .

Owners manual in the glove box . Found the under hood light fixture/harness in the center console so will get that installed . Checked all fluids and all were good . It looks like the original jack storage was inside the truck on the passenger side behind the seat . It was relocated into the bed on the passenger side at the front of the bed .

I will get her on my lift soon and study her bottom :D .
