Robbery gone wrong:

They can ban police pursuits, (hasn't happened here yet), but they can't ban citizens chasing the MF who just robbed them! I know that the officials can tell you not to do it but when the adrenaline is flowing, who is going to give a **** what they say...not this guy:

It's California, which means the surviving robbers are probably in less trouble than the robbee.

Probably the case...

Not likely. No one gets in trouble for anything and we have an election coming up with the current progressive DA on the ropes. The pendulum is swinging the other way, even in Los Angeles.

if we allowed cops to bust some heads and do their jobs i'd say the victim was outside of his rights and put others at risk for property.

but given the reality we are living in i'm all for it and thrilled with the result.

Sounds like the hoodlum got exactly what he deserved...and the victim (hero) should get a medal.

No doubt, "investigated as a homicide." 21 year old guy has probably ruined his life by virtue of living in the S-hole that is LA and not laying down as the victim of a crime. People defending themselves from criminals, that is crazy talk. That is the job of the police

Old man in Oakland is in jail right now for defending himself in a home invasion robbery.

Best case scenario: Original robbery victim is charged with reckless driving which caused an accident. Second robber is charged with murder for taking part in a robbery that resulted in a death.

If we aren't allowed to defend ourselves from these types, who's going to do it?

A couple of things…just because something is a homicide does not make it a crime. Look up the definition. Also, the victim was technically, legally in the wrong just about anywhere if he drove like a maniac after the robbers but I’m not mad at him one bit.

I can live with that. The average untrained driver doesn't need to be performing pursuits on the road. Most folks can barely drive normally without throwing stress, anger and a chase into the mix.

If the police cannot or will not protect the public, vigilantism will rise. Guaranteed.

And before this goes to PARF, there is a big difference between chasing people who just robbed you and approaching a black guy jogging through your neighborhood, (while you are armed). Just to be clear where I stand.

Not swinging fast enough. Crime is pretty bad. Almost 9 out of the 14 houses have been broken into in one of my friend's neighborhood block. Its has always been a very safe neighborhood. This isn't City of LA neither.

Sounds like the robeery victim was able to pull his own "modified PIT maneuver".

I think I could pull that off, although I wouldn't want to do it with my own car.

If you’re mad enough, you’d be amazed at what you would do.

Good for the 21-year-old!

I can see the lawsuit now. If the 30-year-old robber wasn’t being chased, he wouldn’t have died, his mom says. He’s a good boy… 🙄

That would be the foundation for a civil suit. I'd bet that the thug's family would win that case.

Many years ago, I worked at a FLAPS. A buddy working at a different location was robbed after hours while he and another employee were closing up. My buddy snatched the gun out of the guys hand while he was distracted and shot him in the leg.

When the cops got there, they told him "if this ever comes up again, either kill him or don't shoot him." They told him "if you shoot that guy, and he has a permanent limp or something, he can sue you."
