This reminds me of a story of my uncles, who, living in hampton roads, Virginia, at the end of WWII found a dummy warhead bomb washed up on the beach.

Perhaps it was Buckroe beach.

Who knows, what matters, is, they did the right thing.

They lugged it into their high school and placed it in the PE teacher's locker.

Evidently the PE coach was a bit of a hard arse, until he discovered a bomb in his locker, at which point he caved.

Actually, he freaked out.

The school was evacuated. The bomb squad pulled the dummy bomb out to a field, and blew it up, only to find it was filled with sand.

My Uncles were expelled.

They also managed to blow up a toilet with fireworks at the same school, where they were expelled again.

Perhaps the toilet bomb was first. I don't know. My uncles were hellions.

Expelled twice? I will contact the living uncle for clarification

My heart swells with pride being related to such hooligans.

I was going to post some of the "post" photos from this sort of stupidity. But I couldn't find any that weren't so gory that Paul would let them stay.

If you're curious, just do a google image search for "fireworks ass burn"

Saw a post on FB yesterday with a couple stills of the guy and a 30 second video with him in like a Halloween type Uncle Sam outfit. The actual incident was not shown, but it did show him dancing with a bunch of smoke emitting safe & sane type fireworks around him. you could tell he was a guy who loved him some attention with people laughing at him in the background of the video.

then? then, boom went the dynamite.

The problem with men doing stupid, drunken, drugged up behaviors is that you usually get away with it 95% of the time, and you are just the class clown. But then there's that other 5% of the time where it's not going to end well..

The firework on the head trick had been tried several years ago with essentially the same result.

I had said to a friend on July 3rd "I wonder who's going to win the Darwin award this year?" And then on July 5th we found out.
