Hopefully simple amplifier to speaker question
I’d like to redeploy an old speaker and a small Bluetooth amp for some music in my gym. There is nothing hi-fidelity about this Mickey Mouse setup so spare me the snickering, lol.
My question is this: the amp has a L and R rca outlet(s). I’m not sure the speaker has a left and right channel. I took a look at the online manual for the JBL EON speaker and it seems like the right “speakon” connector is for chaining together another speaker, which is N/A in my case. So how do hook this up? I don’t want to send just one side of the signal to the speaker. It appears that the left side was the only one in use since it has some butchered NP4 connector with two set screws to hold the wires. The right side seems untouched. Perhaps the right side speakon outlet is in fact the right side signal? Or should I get a NP4 connector for the left side that can hold the 2 L and 2 R wire ends? TIA ![]() ![]()

It looks like you have a broken NL4 connector in the left. The speaker is mono, it accepts a 1/4 plug or a NL4. With 1 speaker you will just be able to connect one channel, L or R.

GS, treat yourself to a new set of second hand great quality speakers. Second hand are cheap! and you'll love the sound.
Cool Bluetooth amp. |

I guess I need that mono amp, or another speaker.
Thanks for the links, my 930 brother. ![]()

That might be a neat little amp; the fact that it has banana jacks and RCA jacks gives it a little bit of adaptability. Have you checked out your local goodwill or thrift store for a cheap set of speakers that have compatible jacks on the back?

Yes that's just a mono speaker, the jacks are redundant.
Seriously you could just get a battery powered stereo Bluetooth speaker on Amazon for Pennies and dispense with the struggle!

Oh and PS that Bluetooth thing does not have rca outlets. Only the banana plugs on the right. The rca is a physical input if you don't want to use the Bluetooth part of it.

If you want to be incredibly thrifty unscrew one red and one black terminal of the banana plug and run a speaker cable to the hack job screw terminals of the speaker and it'll work, but yea it'll only be one side.
