I bought a 2025 Tesla Model Y Long Range AWD. The combined incentives, discounted price, customer referral discount and 0% financing made buying new vs used a no-brainer. By the way, the paperwork said there’s 15 miles on the ODO. Turns out that Tesla uses that figure as a placeholder. The actual mileage was only 0.

^^^ That's great!
The incentives really bring the price down. I wish Honda would do the same.

We write up little things all the time from gaps in trim pieces to ac compressor pressure not being up to spec. Every vehicle that has an issue goes straight to the repair area specific to the issue.

Tesla’s extensive fart menu
In addition to deciding what seat will be the perpetrator in your vehicle, Tesla offers an impressive menu of fart noises of varying lengths and decibels. The current lineup includes six different sounds, as well as a randomizer option. Here’s how the poots are lined up:

Not a Fart – Similar to the “Not a Flamethrower” previously touted by The Boring Company
Short Shorts Ripper – A rip right to the face of all of those Tesla short sellers
Falcon Heavy – A not so subtle shoutout to SpaceX
Ludicrous Fart – A reference to Tesla’s Ludicrous mode. Perhaps we see a speedy Plaid fart soon?
Neurastink – Could this someday be the follow-up to Neuralink? Think smell-o-vision…
Boring Fart – Once again referencing the not-so-boring, Boring Company
I’m So Random – It’s like Russian roulette, but with unnervingly realistic fart noises

Interesting topic. Well it was till the flatulence comments. I am attempting to revive this thread to keep it on the rails(seat?).

Yesterday I went looking at a used Lexus NX300 but just before that I sat in a new 2025 Lexus NX250. The latter has a normally aspirated 2.5 liter engine which uses regular gas and gets decent mileage. The salesman let me drive it to the used car lot. The mileage was only one kilometer or about half a mile on the display. I thought to myself that they have not given it a decent test drive at the factory. Most new vehicles here have about fifty miles on them. So the one kilometer was quite a surprise.

Have a great day,
Guy.

It should be noted that the '02 Accord I bought with only 0.5 miles showing when I first sat in it, was one of the last Accords to come off the assembly line that had been building that model car for 9 years. They really perfected how to screw them together and it was one of the best cars I've ever owned.

Yeah, when I finish driving the vehicle, it usually has about 2 or 3 miles on it. Maybe they reset the trip-ometer?

Way back in about 2002 my wife and I looked at a 2002 Toyota Camry, a 2002 Honda Accord and a 2002 VW Jetta. They were all new and the most fun to drive was the Jetta, next was the Accord and the least fun was the Camry. We went for the Camry but would have been happy with any one of the three. Meanwhile 70k kms or 40k miles it has no rust and has been very reliable.

Yes the suv was spotless. Yes the odometer could have been reset but unlikely with this dealership. Having said that it won't take long for a new car to become a demo.

They can't risk turning back an odometer by any amount.

Not the odometer, the tripometer or "trip meter". There's a difference.

Tripometer, or "trip meter", not odometer.

I went with a friend to buy a new Honda Civic Type R yesterday on a spur-of-the-moment NY eve purchase. As he sat in it, he asked the salesman and manager, "any test drives on this one?"

They misunderstood the question and said, "um, yeah, we can probably let you drive it."
We responded, "no, we don't want to drive it...has anyone else test driven it?" The answer was no and my buddy bought the car. It had 3 miles showing and was like a newborn baby with the plastic still on the seats and adhesive film on the outside, etc.

My Cummins had 12 miles on it when i picked it up. Special order and picked up same day as arriving. 2 miles of that was the salesman filling her up at the local gas station while i signed the paperwork.

Congrats on the new Tesla! Also considering the demographic for many Type R owners, I would want a “virgin” one too.

Oddly enough a car is considered “new” until it is titled by the first owner. I’ve seen dealer demo/loaner/shuttle cars that are 3 years old and have 30k on them that are still being sold as “new”. Legal but deceptive at best.

As a test track driver, I have had rattles from under the 3rd row seats that turn out to be extra bolts that were dropped by mistake.
