Just finished the first season.
it's a bit overdramatized and exaggerated,
but that's a tough way to make a living.
No room for sissies.

I watched the first few episodes of lioness but lost interest fast.
Small, thin women don't kick the crap out of big strong men in real life.
Sorry.
There are tough women in this world but they are big,
burley and don't look anything like that.

Call it the Bruce Lee syndrome.
Some people like to believe, we know better.

I agree on both statements. The ex wife looks good naked but if it turns into a soap opera, I am not watching.

I have a bad feeling about what happened in E5.

Should not be a show for me, but I enjoy it anyway just for the dialogs and Thornton's delivery thereof ;-) Ok the ladies aren't hard on the eyes either. But man, it's well written.

Decent show but, so far, he hasn't done much of what a landman actually does. Technically it has some problems when they get anywhere near a well operation and the ex-wife narrative is a bit overdone but I'll watch anything with Billy Bob playing a character like that.

Could have done without the pinky scene.

He was good in Goliath, too.

E6 is very good. The more I watch it, the more I like it. Jon Hamm is good in this.

Watched Episode 6 last night myself. Thought 5 was better but no complaints about 6 so still very impressed with this series...

Watched episode 6 last night. Apparently, Tommy is the GM of the company and not a "Landman" as the title indicates. I'm ok with that since calling the show General Manager wouldn't have the same ring to it.

About 10 years ago I got put in charge of a side business our company was involved with building linear rod pumps to replace traditional horse head pump jacks. I got called down to Cleburne, Texas on several occasions to deal with problems with our units. Locations looked just like they do on Landman with the roughneck workers being very "rough". Had to wait a full day once while they put new tubing down in a well. It was 100 degree day and the workers busted their azzes changing the tubing while wearing full fire resistant coveralls. I bet there was at least 100 empty plastic water bottles laying on the ground when they were done. They worked on the tubing until 1:00 am then reinstalled our pump. I ran a couple tests then drove up to DFW and barely made my 7:00 am flight home.

Those workers were hardcore as was their supervisor. I don't think any sentence I heard him speak did not include the "F" bomb.

You were probably working with friends of mine. Hopefully you took your shotgun and were able to get out and do some quail hunting. As my Cleburne friends say, the most successful ranchers are those with herds of Lufkins.

Sheridan seems to have a little industry going with Lioness, Tulsa King and this one. Just watched the first 2, but going to assume all 3 wander outside the realm of believability to excite the more gullible portion of the audience.

Well-produced stuff.

The Cleburne site was Chesapeake Energy. Supervisor's name was Ottie if I recall correctly. He wore a big ole round Texas belt buckle. His hobby was horses.

I started watching it today, so far so good. The football game scene was pretty funny.

It is kind of entertaining. I think the oilpatch scenes are overdone. I worked in the Canadian oilpatch for 40 years. It could be different in Texas but I don't think that different. Also I find the wife and daughter roles are overdone and therefore annoying at times.

The finale (E10) came out last night. It's like a photo with the saturation and contrast turned up too high, or food with too much salt, but take it for what it is, it's very entertaining. E10 was brutal and a good finish. The storylines are coming together and IMO well done. Looking forward to season 2, but I think I'll wait until I can binge the whole thing. Waiting a week for a new episode sucks.

Sheridan definitely likes making some of the women hard to take. eg Beth Dutton

Then again there's Teeter. I love me some Teeter.

Jennifer Landon seems to be a character and a half. She brings it on Yellowstone.
