Flip Sockets ordered

I'd be torn between taking them out of the case and putting them in my tool box, keeping or throwing away the case and just leaving them in the case.
Glad I don't have to make that decision!

Since you won't be making the decision, I'll tell you mine. In the case. Just grab it, a breaker bar, and go to wherever the wheel is. Whether it's a dirt or paved parking lot, I'll use the case lid to put the lug nuts in, keeping debris out of the threads.

I bought that big MATCO toolbox a couple weeks ago and I'm organizing.

Look what double sided flip 1/2 drive sockets I ran into. Security lug nut removers.

Byron, good "find". Looks like you can also use them as bolt extractors on rounded off nuts & bolts.

Close to on topic and worth it for someone who needs bolt extractor options. I traded a 1999 RAV4 in exchange for a brake job. Fuel pump is dead. Access to the fuel pump is from inside the car but the tank cover plate (8mm hex head) bolts are corroded. Sockets just spin on them. They also had JIS "#2 phillips" recesses in the head but I was not taking the chance.

I sandblasted with a handheld blaster around the bolts and used a towel to keep the sand isolated. Gave me a little more depth once rust scale was gone.

I got the set below from Amazon and found the right size (many choices) to slide over the head and bite by tapping on a 1/4 socket extension. Every one of them came out.

Clearly lower end but not bad for $50

I have to admit the double ended socket concept was foreign to me until this thread. Cool idea if you don’t already have the relevant sockets or want to minimize space, like a car tool kit.

Well my wife listened and ordered these for my birthday. Nice storage case and sockets seem like good quality .

I have a small set of those, I think 5-10 sizes, and they do work well.

Since I recommended it, glad you're happy. Overall, I've found Tekton quality to be equal to the old USA made Craftsman, and perhaps even a bit better.
Hope they solved the clearance problem you mentioned.
