Yeah don’t get me wrong i respect the Old V series caddies (that wagon!) and the new CT4 and 5. I just don’t see their sales volume justifying an F1 entry under that name, with a Ferrari engine and unexciting drivers - I get why they need one but 2? As Chevrolet it would have made more sense to me. I hope they do well anyway!

Cadillac has had roadracing entries into IMSA and the WEC for years.
Personally, I think it's smart for GM to put their premium brand in F1, to try and use that roadracing experience from LeMans and Daytona to further inroads into a global market. As for drivers, they chose a pair of good drivers who have won races, poles and podiums, who understand the workings and needs of top teams and know how to setup a car for qualifying and racing, not to mention the pre-season testing. Herta still doesn't even have enough points for a superlicense, Pato and Palou don't have experience, and a youngster like Mick Schumacher will literally be getting in the way or contributing nothing or both.

I think Checo and Bottas are an inspired choice as Cadillac have no previous car, historical performance data, their drivers both have recently driven for two different top teams so both will know what a fast F1 car should drive like
Any driver from Indy won't have any idea what a good F1 car is like to drive so wouldn't be able to get quickly up to speed to guide the team in the right direction While Cadillac have a Ferrari PU the team will just be harvesting data to prepare them for when the GM PU is used

Who will be WDC at the end of the season, Lando or Oscar?
I'm picking Oscar.

I’ll go with Lando here for WDC. Going on experience.

Funny, as Ferrari called in Leclerc for that last pit stop (theoretically to cover Antonelli), I thought it was an unnecessary risk. And while not Ferrari's fault (Antonelli was over optimistic in that crash), it proved to be true.

Leclerc and Lando should go sit next to each other on a sand dune.
Nice drive by Hadjar. Nice drive by Bearman.

Whether he likes it or not Hadjar will be Max's teammate next year .

Interesting race, great for the rookies, terrible for Ferrari.
I see Hamilton also got a 5 grid place penalty for not slowing enough during the formation lap yellow flags. His season is painful to watch.

I think the WDC will come down to the last few races . In my opinion Lando has more pressure on him to win it vs Oscar . Pressure can be a motivator but it can also crush you . That goes for both drivers .
I also think Oscar is motivated to prove he is not the # 2 driver . We will know soon enough who wins. |

I have a friend (woman) around 35 that is absolutely gorgeous and one of the nicest people you would ever want to meet. She just bought some Caddy sedan thing. I had to choke down a congratulations. I don't get it either.

You should watch the grid walks, appears this is their current target audience, and women. |

Still, it's really nice to see Hadjar do well after his inauspicious start in Australia, crying in his helmet! All the talk about Antonelli (in a Merc no less), one could argue Hadjar has been the best and especially most consistently good rookie in 2025. Great sign ! What do we make of Sir Lewis ? Desperate before the break, in the wall after, 5 spot grid penalty for speeding under yellows applied for monza...Oy. Kinda bummed for Norris... Not that I care if Lando/Oscar wins but I hate seeing this decided by an oil leak. Dunno if you heard the rumor, Herta may do an F2 season next year to get a superlicense (and presumably end at Cadillac).. Kinda silly that indycar gets less points distribution for this and he has to do that, if true. Last edited by Deschodt; 09-02-2025 at 11:32 AM.. |

The idea that Max is destroying the 2nd driver is laughable. RB has been a one driver team since 2010.
If the one-eyed bandit was any good at picking drivers then why is there always only one who can drive the damn thing? Why are they always trading out #2 for the next great thing? Seems that there's more than just a B-spec driver on the other side of the garage. |
