Laptop with expandable screen
https://arstechnica.com/gadgets/2025/01/lenovo-laptop-has-a-screen-that-expands-from-14-to-16-7-inches-for-3500/
This is cool. I’m about due for a new laptop. Might consider this one, if it is spec’d well enough.

That looks like landfill to me. I can imagine it jammed and full of pencil shavings. I guess if you need a 14…
Have you ever tried a portable monitor? |

Think I would rather plug in a second monitor (they have small tablet sized accessory monitors for this), or just buy a bigger laptop in general
Then again my laptop doesnt get used much ... so a few extra pounds is no big deal when I do need to tote it |

I had a Leveno laptop. The warranty was short, and right after the warranty expired, the laptop would not even get to the BIOS screen. They said we could send it in and for almost the price of a new one, fix it. I just pulled out the hard drive, and dropped it in the trash. Now my Microsoft laptop can't be upgraded to Win 11.

You can also get laptop screen extenders, not sure which ones are good, but there are a lot of them.

When traveling I bring a carry-on case with four 21" monitors and the dock, stands, cables, full keyboard, etc, giving me five screens including the laptop. I'm looking for ways to reduce the weight and add more screens.

I use a portable usbC screen. Less than $100, power from laptop, worked great until my wife borrowed/broke it.

My wife travels with a screen that is a "backpack" style. Attaches to the back of her laptop screen with magnets and then extends out to the side creating a second monitor screen. Still fits in the laptop bag.
