Another cop story. and that was the end of our adventure that night.
Wow, you remember every instance of being pulled over and/or interacting with police for the last 50 years? That's impressive. I remember some, but certainly not all from the past 40 years.

I haven't been pulled over for anything since 1978. Not quite 50 years, but close. I did get pulled over in my 911 while going 72 or so in a 70 zone. The cop came to the window, which I had rolled down, and I had both hands on the steering wheel. He approached and said "sir, we have a report of a white late model 911 stolen". I replied, sir, this is a 1985 model. He grinned and said "hey can I see your engine" So I got out and popped the engine deck lid, and showed him the interior. We chatted a few minutes, and he said thanks, and got back in his cruiser. He just wanted to see my car.

Some shopettes have one way entrances. Irwin has a really poorly done one with lots of half assed remarked road paint, anyways i get pulled over getting gas one night going the wrong way into the plaza. Kid is desperately trying to push for field sobriety tests and proceeded to lock himself out of the idling mp cruiser…. I offered to take him to grab an extra key… we thanked each other for our service and i left

Back in 1989... I was service manager of a Kaw/Yam dealer and used to lead group rides on the weekends. One of the riders at the back of the pack did a wheelie as we were leaving Dover to go play on HWY 27. City cop decided to follow us out of town, and radioed for a road block ahead of us. we were all escorted back to town for tickets. The chief posed for a picture with us. Most of us just laughed it off as we played on those roads for years without getting caught. it was lesson for the guy doing the wheelie though... you always behave in or, near towns.

If it is not that many, it is easy to remember

California stopped enforcing traffic laws during the pandemic. Apparently, the thinking was fewer interactions with the public meant less exposure of the officers to the deadly virus.

There was one more. My girlfriend and I were driving back from my parents place in San Destin to Atlanta and I got pulled over. I was nice, but the state cop had an attitude and he wrote me up the ticket in his car, while I was in the passenger seat. I closed the door firmly and went back to my car. As I was looking at the ticket and talking to my girlfriend, he came up and knocked on the window and asked what my problem was. Nothing I said, just looking at the ticket. He grabbed the ticket out of my hands and said follow him. We went to the station, got yelled at about slamming the door and if I had enough money to buy a new door. Really? 🙄. Paid the $30 fine on the spot and left. They were *******s. This was on I 20 in East Alabama or West Georgia in about 1983.

Outta luck on that one . My business is named Fast Freddy's., and my trucks and cars are registered to the business name. so whenever I get pulled over, they already know they are dealing with some clown who goes by Fast Freddy .
I think the judge got a kick out of my business name . He made comments
I delivered pizzas as a teenager . My boss nicknamed me Fast Freddy, because I always had muscle cars , and was a nut job on dirt bikes back then . The name kind of stuck and it became my nickname . I bet a few girls called me that too ....
We were all sitting around one evening after working on my first rented commercial space, and knocking around ideas to name my business. It was unanimous among all in the room . They all said " Fast Freddy's " was the only name that I could use

I will say, other than a tail or brake light out, every time that I've been pulled over, I deserved it...

I got a ticket in my 993 and I absolutely was not speeding (engine stone cold, just left the house and was coming up on a red light) and I was not the car he got on his radar gun. I didn't argue about it on the side of the road, went to court and the cop no-showed, so I skated. Still a pain in the ass.

Fall of 93, I'm headed from eastern Mississippi to north Georgia (Helen) to link up with some friends for a full weekend of fast two-wheeled fun in the Georgia mountains. I was on a 89 BMW
R100RS - Sport Tourer ( mostly Sport), a wonderful machine but not ideal for my 6'1 frame. By the time I hit Atlanta, my buttocks were screaming and knees required constant stretching - all while running north. I cleared Atlanta around 10:00 p.m., moving rapidly thru the country on state and county two and four lanes. In an effort to keep myself awake, I was rolling on and rolling off the throttle. Visibility clear, little to no traffic, speeds ran from 65 - 125. I cleared another small town, paying close attention to the legal limit. Once cleared, I rolled back on, moving rapidly up to "go to jail speeds". I noticed headlights in my mirrors, slowed down and watched them for a few minutes before jacking the speed back up. Slow down, speed up, this went on for twenty minutes or so. Finally, the car behind me sped up and confirmed what I afraid of - blue lights, full siren - the works. I immediately hit the turn indicator, pulled over, helmet off, hands on the handle bar. In a way I was glad to get stopped as it gave me a chance to get off the bike. Once the police officer (County) got out of his car and sorted out, he started in on me - pat down, questions not intended to be answered, the whole business. After ten minutes of this, the police officer cools down a bit and I think I may actually get out of going to jail this Friday night. During this back & forth, two other Offiers have now showed up, one of them more interested in my two-wheeled Beemer Rocketship. Everything is going well until I open my big mouth without having been asked to do so. The original Officer is now writing a speeding ticket. In the course of determing the highest speed captured on the radar gun, the Officer states that while he was tracking me, he thought I was going to "run off" on him. This is now where I have a complete and total lack of judgment. In response to that, I stated that if I had wanted to run, then we would not be having this conversation....truer words never spoken, but not to that particular moment. As you might imagine, the officer went ape-***** - promising to haul my sorry a** to jail that very night. Thankfully the other two officers are older, wiser, and truly enjoying this moment on a otherwise quiet Friday night. End of story - I did get a ticket ( ouch!) and proceeded on up to Helen for the weekend ride.

Our own MMarsh was a motor officer and very funny guy. He once pulled over someone in a Corvette and the guy said, "you only pulled me over because I have a nice car."

"Yeah? Why aren't you driving it?"
