I'm 10 years in now. It took two years to really get comfortable with retirement. Looking back I see I had to get comfortable with the financial planning I had done. I had to see it work. So far we do everything we want to, cover our bills, drive newer cars, take the grandkid out for ice cream, and we remain net "savers." Once anxiety isn't a part of your daily life, you are truly retired. All you have to worry about is your health.
