I've got one on my keychain, and have used it a few times. They are awesome. I love "simple but highly effective". I've got a P51 and a P38.

Red Beard pic.
I found one of these working on an old Victorian house. See the little spike at the business end? That centers in the middle of the cap and splays it outward just enough to make it effortless to lever the cap off. By far the most efficient design that was apparently lost to the ages. Mine is embossed with a French name which I assume is a beer brand.

My Swiss Officers Army knife from Victornox has a can opener on one end. At my bachelor pad first house I invited my parents over for dinner when dad retired and they moved to Oklahoma. I was opening a can of something and my mom saw me using my pocket knife to open the can. She shook her head, and bought me one of the cheap can openers that has the twist handle to open cans. It was faster I had to admit. They cost almost 50 cents!

I did not get an electric can opener until I got married, and now we use the one my wife bought when she was in college back in the 1970s.

I don't think I have had a beer that needs the cap gone in thirty years so I don't know!

...anyone here wants it FOC, PM your address.

Too coincidental!

Here’s what’s been on my keychain for 39 yrs. and more. The “John Wayne” was carried by my Dad in the Navy and he gave it to me when I enlisted. The bottle opener came into my possession on my ‘86 deployment. We were ordered through the Suez into the Med. to do battle with ‘KaDaffy’. Arab nations pitched a b1tch because we were Nuke and wouldn’t let us go home that way. So, lucky us, we hit Italy and France ports of call before heading home to Alameda the long way.

While in Toulon, a number of us volunteered to work at an orphanage doing clean up, painting, just donating our time to whatever they needed done. While clearing out very old bushes from the side of the building, I found the bottle opener. On our lunch break I tried to give it to one of the Priests but, he just smiled and told me to keep it as a souvenir. It’s been on my keychain ever since. It gets regular use.

Billy F. Gibbons approves of the church key.

Here are some from my father in law.
He passed in January, and we did a big clean out.

Several others were sold, but we kept a few of the super cool ones.

Sorry for duplicate photos…

I’d say the “Chief Oshkosh”
May be of the less common.
The Pabst is an early design. And I don’t know much about Lucky Lager either…

I posted this in the bottom of page 2 that nobody can see…

How about a high tech version that’s 3D printed and designed using FEA optimization?

But, will it open a paint can?

I need to dig out my old beer church keys for a group photo. I’ve got like 4 or 5 but they’re scattered around in various tool locations.

To be clear. Several of your favorite bottle openers can’t prep a spray can for the recycling bin.

Boom.

That’s what I keep these around for. One of them ain’t your ordinary key. I bet I could open a 50gal drum with it.
