And pretty much just a southern California car. The roof is useless in the rain. It is just to provide shade from the sun. I want a car that is fun to drive and own, not just pose in. Wait, I have a 85 911 with 201,000 miles and I have driven it in 41 states and Canada. And it has Hans Peter Porsche's signature on it in the trunk!

But the XKE was a 60s British car, and a late 80s Porsche. No one expected build quality or or great engineering from old British cars, with Luca electrics. Porsche on the other hand usually gets things right. Except for the factory AC in G body cars, that was a joke.

I had an SC cab for a few years, the top was adequate but not great. Even after replacing all of the weatherstrips it would still drip inside when I washed it.

My 1974 914 was only leaked in torrential rain when on the highway at 55 MPH. Yea, the bad old days of national 55 limit.

As it got older the leaks were a bit worse until I replaced the weatherstripping. My 911 coupe is always dry inside. I will never own a convertible again. I had 26 years of driving the 914, and I have had my fill of convertibles.
