Why would travel distance be of concern for you buying a Lotus? You only need to make the one trip to buy the car.

He got a screaming deal on a 2024, which has the twin turbo I-6 BMW power. They did not have a diesel or he would have gotten that.

same issue with Ducati or i would have bought a new one 20 years ago when I wanted a 748. maybe there is one in Buffalo but that’s too far too. We in western NY get screwed. i see lamborghinis and McLarens all over town and know they must be shipping them off to NYC for every service interval. what a pain in the ass

I'm sure there's a performance shop somewhere near Rochester that could handle a Lotus.

My neighbor got tired of shipping his MP4-12C to Dallas and Denver for service so he sold it. Then he found a traveling McLaren mechanic. Since then he’s owned a 570 and now has a 720.

doable but a pain since i’m not retired with all the time in the world to mess with car drama. bad enough im at the dealer every few weeks for a brand new truck with one endless issue after the other….no matter how minor it is, it eats into my valuable time causing stress and lowering my productivity

reliability and ease of good service have become a priority to me.

unfortunately most makers today offer neither.

From the 2024 GX 550 brochure. Looks like the same engine as the 2026, which isn't BMW.

Yeah, but he has a Grenadier, not a Lexus. They must have switched to Toyota power for 2025, he may even have a 2023

GX550. - recall- The 2024 Lexus GX 550 has been affected by recalls for two main issues: potential engine failure due to machining debris in the V6 engine, and a software glitch affecting the rear-view camera. A separate issue related to the transmission where it might not fully disengage in neutral was also addressed with a software update.

Ouch. A friend has a 2024. I like it. No issues yet.

No fwd facing camera. After having one on my truck, I wouldn’t be without. Deal breaker ..now I can stop thinking about these.

The engine debris is becoming a huge issue for Toyota.

Oddly enough one of the these was parked not far from me at the airport so I got a good close up look today.

It has all kinds of tacticool like attachment points on it, even the doors. I can see them attracting some folks.

Just not my cup of tea but its different than a lot of the stuff out there, kind of like a Chinese copy of a LR.

There were some amazing engine details but I was asked not to take pics of those... I am not particularly excited by Paganis in general because I tend to confine my excitement to " cars I can afford" or just about someday - but I walked out genuinely impressed by the quality of design and execution - the shifter alone is a a work of art. Did not like the dash at all - too gaudy for me - but you see where your money went...

On the flip side, I've seen a lot of opened up Ferraris (and more on YT shows recently) and until fairly recently anyway (dunno about the very latest), the pretty body reveals.... an ugly scaffolding structure, shims on every panels to make stuff more or less fit, I was extremely unimpressed by the built quality and methods thereof... Sorry for digressing... We did not lease the grenadier in the end, mostly "steering" felt weird.

Aren't they M-B engines?

Yep, my welding is so poor I might as well use chewed up bubble gum to fasten 2 pieces of metal together and what I've seen looks about on par with my work.
