I know this will create more discussion...but...Camaros themselves aren't all that bad....it's just the people that own them and believe they are the kings of the road because of it.
Also...nostatic...if you need a good deal on an AK47....LOL Bob

I found it amusing that he complained about nostatic suggesting techron, but believes the airbox straps solved the problem for a week. ...but then again, I'm a no talent Porsche nerd...

Well, guys, you have to admit that sometimes some of us post opinions without any information to back it up. Sometimes I find that slightly irritating.
But to paint the board membership as nerds and morons is just plain ignorant. Besides, how does a Camaro even begin to compare to a 911?

Hummm...maybe he was talking about me. The only things I've done is change a fog lamp, wipers, added oil, & added air to my tires...yep that is about it. Otherwise it is off to the posche tech guys.
 I'm guilty of not being a true DIYer.

I don't know, for about two weeks after I bought my 911, I tried to figure out where the radiator was. Then I became enlightened.
I'm sure I'll wonder why a Camaro HAS a radiator...if I ever get a Camaro.

Well, he's right, you know. The guy obviously knows his stuff. I mean, he knew about the air box strap fix when the rest of you guys didn't have a clue.
Versatile, too. Camaros have engines in the front! And finally, he seems awfully charismatic to boot. I'm really going to miss him. You guys should be ashamed of yourselves for offering him your thoughts.

Don't be too hard on the Camaro types. After all, Donohue, patron saint of the 917, spent quite a bit of time in one.
Class struggle, pure and simple. The 911 has acquired, in some circles, a reputation as a complex european sports car for the rich, and folks like to take a poke at us based on the second oldest human emotion there is. I take a deep breath and remember that the 911 was designed with performance and longevity in mind, with cost a secondary consideration: why else would you do an OHC design, with a dry-sump oil system, back in the early '60's? The factory assumed, correctly I think, that people would appreciate what they had done and would be willing to pay a premium price for it. The fact that many of our P-cars could be acquired for much less than the cost of a '60's vintage camaro is lost on these folks, but like Ayn Rand said: "Reason is not automatic. Those who deny it cannot be conquered by it. Do not count on them. Leave them alone."

Not to mention main bearings. A Porsche engine has, what, eight? A Camaro...mmmmm....five? Putting titanium rods in a Camaro is sort of like putting lipstick on a pig.

How did this end up turning into a Camaro vs. Porsche thread??? I agree with everyone that the guy deserves ALL of the flaming, but he never brought up anything about his other car. Granted some Camaro drivers can be red necks etc., but some Porsche owners can be pompas *********s.
Personally I love all classic cars for what they are. Porsches are engineering marvals, and cars like Camaro are a tribute to American history. I hope I don't get flamed too bad for this, but personally I think it is going a little overboard.
