Yellow...I wanna be like you!!! What's Harry? Goshawk?

Do Ana and Athina point or flush for Harry?

The hawk is the ONLY thing she has ever said I couldn't get

Don:

That's a good lookin' hound...all paws and ears, you gotta love 'em at this stage! I'll be your neck of the woods next month w/ my 2 at a field trial kinda by Casa Grande. You gonna hunt her?

Yellowbird RS 02-03-2005 10:19 AM

Thanks, Jim Ana and Athina flush and get them they are English Springer Spaniel about Harry When he sight their prey from the air, they land on the ground and take turns to scare the prey animal until it darts out from its hiding place and is captured by another member of the hunting pack. This seems to be an adaptation to flush out their prey from beneath the thorny habitats of mesquite, saguaro and semi-arid woodland without causing damage to the birds' plumage.

Yelo:

Harry is 1 handsome bird...he looks like a Harris in that photo. Can you work him on both sides of the border, or does he stay on 1 side? How is he on furred game?
Feathered game? Isn't their eyesight amazing...1st time I went out w/ a falconer I couldn't believe how far the bird would go to snag a jackrabbit!

Sarah 02-04-2005 08:31 AM

I have to agree..."Harry" is really cool!! I don't know anyone else who has that type of pet.

Here is a pic from years ago with my first, winning a title and best hunting dog title too. see how I don't spoil him before a hunt test.....

Goat:

I wondered if you'd chime in...saw your avatar. Vizsla is hungarian for Velcro...world's largest lap dog. they stick like glue to ya.

goat 02-04-2005 09:46 AM

lowyder993s Jim.
Your two vizsla's look amazing!
I think you are down south right?
And Don.. You have to take that pup out into the field what comes natural to these dogs would amaze you. Even if you just do a fun field day with a local club.

goat 02-04-2005 09:50 AM

No truer words...breeder and I went to the pheasant club last w/e. He doesn't hunt, but took the sister to my 2 to the club to see what she could do...2 rock solid points. 1st time ever exposed to live birds! I'm almost ashamed to tell you these 2 have had only about 40 hrs training...LOTS of instinct! http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1107543644.jpg

Jim, PM me when you are going to be out here. We'll come down and play dogs for a while.

Here's another shot of Ginger with our Mini Schnauzer, Rudy. He's the one in charge.....of ALL of us.

Im going to try to get pics up of my dogs tomorrow. Ive been drinking a whole lot since I got home, because as of 1:40AM I was informed by my mother that my second oldest dog Jake is no longer able to stand under his own power. I knew this day would be coming, but his condition has been rapidly deteriorating over the past week. He can still sit, so tomorrow morning early Im going to take him out for 'one last ride' in the Porsche and spend what little time I have left with him. Then its on to the vet to say a last goodbye...http://www.pelicanparts.com/support/smileys/sad2.gif

My ferret wanted to help me work on the house

Corky is hanging around by the tools. Ferrets are hard to catch on film, they like to scamper around.

For some unknown reason we decided we needed an English Mastiff/St. Bernard mix to compliment our Rottie and Olde English Bulldogge.
Meet Bellah. She is 7 weeks and 17 pounds in these pics. we pick her up tommorow.
