Pugs are great! Spanky's best friend at puppy class was a pug.

We used to have a female sharpei (Tootie) who also liked to eat material.

In fact that is how we got her from her previous owners. She was a show dog but had to have surgery to remove a rag from her stomach. After that they knew she needed a home to recouperate. She bounced back to health in a few months and was a beautiful dog.

One time at our house too she took a chomp out of one of Tim's shirts that had some kind of food on it. She took it right out of the laundry basket in the basement. He holds up his shirt and says..."there's a big hole in my shirt"...I was laughing too hard to have much sympathy. ;)

Dakota Rose

My Black Beauty.

200 lbs. of Newfie Mastiff and just the sweetest animal you'll ever meet. Unless of course you mess w/me or the family.

We have to keep the glass on the front storm door year round so she does'nt go through it when the pizza delivery guy shows up.

Something about the buckets of drool that spew from her face when she barks scares the guys so bad that they usually don't wait for the tip.

She is actually more expensive to maintain than my 911. Spent 6k on knee replacements alone in the last 2 years. Watching her run you'd never guess her ass end is held together with pins and plates.

Dog seat belt is very useful. Fits around chest and then loop through car seat belt. Otherwise jumping out to chase small critters is too tempting.

Sarah 11-12-2003 11:37 AM

Scott....your dog is HUGE...& what a great face!

John...Do you know brand of dog seat belt you have? We have thought about getting one but were not sure which one was best and that the dogs would tolerate.

Have to check when I get home. Got it on line for about $14. My GSD is quite happy with it. It also prevents her falling over on me when we go into a hard right turn. It is simply a harness that fits over the back and chest and does not seem at all uncomfortable, though I have not tried it on myself. Its also good for stopping them putting claws on the top of the door and/or walking around the car (especially good if you are finicky about your leather seats).

The belts are great for keeping the muttly in one spot, but I have heard some conflicting stories around how good they are in the event of an accident. We use one on our GSD on long trips (or when we know she is going to get bored and wants to drive!). She complained a little when we first put it on her, but after a while it was like it was never there. Doubles as a harness if you want one too.

Your dogs are great guys! Keep those snaps coming!

Ash

Great pics fellas....gotta love those pets.

John...thanks for the link. I printed it for reference.

Spanky has only been in the back of the porsche & left many white dog hairs that took forever to get out of the carpet. Bailey went for his first porsche ride this summer.

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1068752945.jpg

He did really good for the most part & stayed in one spot...but then he got hot & started slobbering on the dash. He also needed more air which he would have gotten if he was in the back (when you're in the back it is like a wind tunnel...yes I have been stuck back in the children sized seats a few times & have experienced the wind tunnel effects....:) )
