I saw many of his houses when I worked in Oak Park for a summer as a house painter back in 1998. I was amazed to see these million-dollar houses right next to ghetto and decline. On closer inspection, I was amazed at the large cracks and general saggy-ness of the houses. It seemed to me they would all be demolished decades ago if they weren't from a famous architect.
