my future son in law was at his job a week or two ago in the oilfield and this 20,000lb piece of machinery fell off the fork lift.. he didn't quite make it out of the way and it fell on his leg.. seperated the calf muscle from the bone.. I was told you could see daylight thru his leg. he doing okay. didn't sever any nerves or tendons and he'll probably regain complete use of his leg. he's getting around on crutches. now he's got a scar on his thigh from the skin graft just like mine from my lawnmower accident, only smaller. hopefully he doesn't end up with a drop foot like mine from the mirror accident. just met the guy and he's already trying to do me one better. he's gonna need a lot more scars to out do me..this is two of the three photos sent to me. I know how some of you guys like gory accident photos. the 3rd photo shows some raw meat so I didn't post it yet

well.. no one complained about the first two so here's the 3rd photo,, brings back memories of my leg and arm ripped apart by a lawn mower blade at 5yrs old. I can remember looking at the bones exposed from knee to butt and my arm hanging from the elbow by just a bit of skin. it's funny how I remember thinking the inside of my thigh looked like potted meat as I got up from under the mower. anyway.. his cut looks bad... I've had worse. I'm gonna call him girly man for running to the emergency room for such a tiny little scratch next time I talk to him..

I liked the bra ads better. And what is wrong with the shelf? Is that considered a bad thing?

How did you get under the lawnmower? And I am having trouble understanding how you could still be alive and get out from under it with your arm almost severed and your thigh muscles off. You still have the arm, right?

it was a riding mower, my sister and friend driving while another friend and I wrestled. he flipped me over in front of the mower and they drove it over me. my jeans tangled up the blade and killed the motor. I got up, held my wrist up so my arm wouldn't fall off and walked across the yard over to the kitchen door and told my mother I was cut.. then everyone flipped out but me. I was quickly bleeding out and probably in shock and more worried about my mother's white dress getting ruined from all the blood. at the local hospital they were prepping me for amputation, I remember looking at the saw, mama refused to let them cut it off, they wrapped my arm and leg in wax paper and sent me off to Ochsner in New Orleans. 2.5 hours away. I made it over half way there and last thing I remember was going over railroad tracks in Raceland. yep... kept the arm and leg and added major scars to my collection. that was maybe 1960-61..the hospital bill was $25,000 and the doctor didn't charge us. guess I was test subject for new surgical techniques. the guy I saw leaving the operating room as they wheeled me had just had his arm removed.. looked sort of like a bone in ham to me as I went under. quite an experence for a 5yr old. just another day in my life
