Yup Myanmar and Liberia are two countries we really want to be compared to!

Also, everything in Engineering in this country is done in Metric, it’s pretty much just stuff sold to the public that’s still referred to in Imperial. Try find an Imperial fastener on any modern Domestic automobile, nope, not there unless it’s some weird legacy part. Cars are completely designed in Metric, with the exception of wheel size. We even use metric for rolling radius on tires. Of course Lockheed Martin really screwed the pooch when they received a contract from NASA (you know, an official Government agency) specifying that everything needs to me Metric, but they went ahead and provided information in Imperial units causing the very public embarrassment of crashing the Mars lander.

There’s even a push to allow voluntary labeling of packaging in metric only.

The UK seems to do OK with everything in Metric except speed in mph, why can’t we go that way too?

But as I say, why let redneck rhetoric get in the way of truth?

Also while we’re at it, what the hell is with the ass backwards system of dates here that go Month, Day, Year? The rest of the world and the US Government use the far more sensible increase system of Day, Month, Year. Stills screws my head in when I’m asked for my date of birth, I have to say it in full using April not ‘4’ otherwise I get it wrong and I’ve lived here for coming on 23 years now.
Why let pithy ignorance get in the way of a good story? Everything in aviation is still Imperial Standard. Even these guys:

Bro I think Steve Austin tried to fly one, and the outcome was Bi-onic legs, from a wreck of the lifting body.

April 26,1890 the Tombstone Epitaph published an incredible article of six gunslingers shooting the Tombstone Thunderbird right out of the sky.................

The Library of Congress has the issue April 26, 1890, on file and it shows no photo.

I'm the only guy using the metric system in the engineering department, and I'm not an engineer.

Month/Day/Year makes for a quicker evaluation than Day/Month/Year. By putting month first, you know in which part of a year an event is. Whereas with days, they repeat every month, so little info is gained at first. If you wanted an even step of units for dates, Year/Month/Day would allow for a quicker grasp of what is important than Day/Month/Year.

For example, if the first number is 12 in the date for a gig, I start thinking Christmas concert. When I read European concert dates, I end up either reading them right to left, which is backwards from how I read the numbers, or I go middle, right, far left.

Spotted the guy who has never had to sort data by date... (and no, you don't always have the luxury of passing a pointer to your own strcmp() function.)

Otherwise, not a bad photoshop. With a modicum of research, it could have been (superficially) more convincing.
