Bigel: I see you've been to MSG to see the Rangers. Were they playing the Devils that night or are you a Ranger fan?

Interesting product, Geroge. The paver contractors around here just use mortar along the sides to hold everything in place. This becomes an issue when trying to keep a clean edge where turf adjoins the pavers. The mortar dulls the edger blades for one....and sometimes the mortar is applied too thick - and the turf can't grow over it adequately.

This product wouldn't work with turf either because the edgers would tear into the plastic but for aggregate it seems like a decent alternative.

PS - I ordered some bungee cord in bulk from HD today. They don't stock it in the stores so having it shipped directly to me. Free shipping with $45. minimum order. I got 3 rolls of 3 different diameters.

My son bought a strip of that product, cut it to length, turned it upside down, and mounted it to the underside of his front spoiler on his '97 328. Looked pretty neat.

Baz, do you have a solution to disguise or camouflage the mortar when it's too thick on the edges. I have that exact problem on a back patio. There's pine straw all around the whole patio.--Dave

Dave - the only thing I can think of would be to paint the mortar either the color of the pine straw or the color of your pavers.

Yours is a good case it seems for application of this plastic stripping.

I also had a guy put in a paver walkway and he put a mortar footer down in two strips along the outside row of where the pavers were going, so the pavers sat right atop the footer, instead of atop a base material, thus providing more stability and eliminating the need for an outside framing material. never saw that done before but I liked the idea.

Took him forever to get his part done - he was hired by the owner - not the contractor - friend of a friend. I had to work around all his stuff and he never did clean up after himself....

That's actually what brought me to post it, somebody used it as a side skirt material to increase their MPG's

Finally added side skirt. - Fuel Economy, Hypermiling, EcoModding News and Forum - EcoModder.com

In Michigan our rapid and frequent freeze thaw cycles required a little edging material to prevent the pavers from moving laterally. Not much we can do about them moving up and down though. Gotta let things move a little bit or they will crack and eventually be turned into dust.

Hog Apocalypse - to begin
https://www.yahoo.com/news/texas-feral-pigs-time-hog-153314975.html

Quote:
The so-called hog lure is derived from warfarin, a blood-thinning agent that's also used to kill rats and mice in homes and buildings. Animals don't die immediately from eating the odorless, tasteless chemical. That would be too kind. Instead, they keep eating it until the anti-clotting properties cause them to bleed to death internally.
