What is R Gruppe?

Not only that what are the other groups (Gruppe)?

911pcars 10-09-2003 08:33 PM

R Gruppe is here: http://www.rgruppe.org/
Many R Gruppers speak here: http://d240157.u39.zeonhost.com/forum

Some R Gruppe event pics are here.

Not sure about the other "Gruppes", but they can insert their own excuses after this post :)

RGruppe is the club that invited me to join, took my $50US and haven't contacted me since (it's been over 2 months!)! I'm starting to think that I've been scammed... Cris Huergas hasn't even returned the follow-up e-mails I've sent. :( If he's changed his mind, I'd like my $ back.

RSupdate 10-09-2003 08:57 PM

Have patience....Back in 2000 it took me 4 monthes... That's how RGruppe is....da boyz is laid back..

btw...pm me with the email address you are using...Ill check to see if it's current

cheers !!

From the web site:

"RGruppe Membership:

Currently the club isn't seeking new members, but if you'd like to be considered for membership please send an email to the founder Cris Huergas with your name, contact information, a description of your car, and a few photos."

Sounds cozy.

If you've changed your mind you are entitled to all your money back.
Sweet how you jump on the internet and bad mouth the R Gruppe lead person,
you certainly have a way with people.
Maybe you are just too hardcore for R Gruppe?
Just tell Cris you changed your mind and be gone.SmileWavy

Don't ya think Cris found your post about as inappropriate as youhttp://www.pelicanparts.com/support/smileys/wat.gif found mine!

thrown_hammer 10-10-2003 04:52 AM

Come on over to GruppeB. It won't cost a dime. Even some hardcore Rgruppers who loathed us at the start have realized we are quite fun.

Hmmm, there seems to be some tension with your group? You should consider joining the SCWDP.

GEEZ Ted having a bad day or need some Viagra? The guy paid money and doesn't even have a sticker yet! If yer going to be that big of an A$$ maybe we can hitch ya to a plow.

Lothar 10-10-2003 06:35 AM

$50 followed by 4 to 6 months of nothing? Now there's a club I'm dying to join.

I don't find anything particularly odd about people posting negative comments in response to this thread's author asking the honest question: What is R Gruppe? If you are going to pay your money, get no corespondence and not be able to reach anyone, then perhaps that is a reasonable definition of the organization based on some people's experience.

Ted, if Cris finds exc911ence's post "inappropriate", then I question Cris' concept of value for the membership dues buck. Furthermore, if Lee has accurately represented the verbage on the web site, then I hope is was in large bold red letters. That attitude should serve as a warning to anyone remotely interested to look elsewhere. Car clubs are about the people and their interest in cars. The web site says, in so many words, "we don't want you unless you have $50 and a really cool car that WE like." I find your post defensive and arrogant.

This thread has enlightened me. I now know that R Gruppe means early 911 owning snobs. To quote Lee: "Sounds cozy".

HAHAHHAHA!
That was great....

thrown_hammer 10-10-2003 07:00 AM

exc911ence, Get me your Address. I will send you some GruppeB stickers for free!
And furthermore if I paid $50 for something and waited 6 months with no response... Then the response I get is go away you whiner! Well I think that would be a no-brainer... Come to GruppeB.

I tell you what...send me $25 bucks and I won't bug you for a year! I think I just started a new club!

Rot 911 10-10-2003 07:21 AM

Gruppe B even has pictures of naked women! All tastefully done of course.

JonT 10-10-2003 07:22 AM

all you Californians can join Arnolds new R Groppe club. Sounds fun!

Embs 10-10-2003 07:26 AM

Perhaps the RGruppe chaps would allow me to "stomp the divits" of their small displacement engine lawn burn-outs. After of course sipping some DOM PÉRIGNON in the shade of a large oak tree whilst rejecting wanna-be members and keeping the $50.00 as a special rejection fee. <br>Sounds like the foofy country club I was "dumb enough" to join a while back. Mr. Embs your use of the "F" word will not be tolerated on the club grounds, okay F you and gimme my money back.

Embs 10-10-2003 07:34 AM

Stand back boy and perhaps if I disturb the turf you may stomp the divits.....

This is actually the second derogitory post that I've received from an RGruppe member (the other was on the 912 forum where the owner of the 912R didn't think my car was RGruppe caliber). I've never met such animosity from a bunch of fellow Porsche owners before... perhaps I should reconsider my membership. I wouldn't want people to automatically think I'm a dick just because of a sticker on the back of my car. What's up with you guys?

As for "jumping on the internet", this is a public forum, get used to hearing other points of view. The Nazi's were defeated you know...

juanbenae 10-10-2003 07:49 AM

ive always thought the R was for rejected. like you application for membership to r-gruppe is rejected. its a pretty exclusive tree house those guys seem to hang in.

ted, i thought the pride of r-gruppers would not allow themselves to stoop to this mud slinging level. glad you're on board down at our level now!!

Just for perspective....
The SCWDP has NO dues, NO website (yet), NO stinkin' membership cards, and the stickers and t-shirts are all GONE.

Don't send us any money and we won't bug you. However, if you have a Un-Bastardized SC you can enlist, as long as you're perfectly willing to commit acts of subversion.

Man you are bold as can be from the safety of your keyboard.
Next time try counting to 10 before hitting submit reply.

Hey I didnt even want to go there...
In So Cal the average R Gruppe car is nothing like yours.
You and your car could not keep contact with the R Gruppe on the track. No animosity just fact based on the mild upgrades you have made to your 912.

I cannot defend your use of the internet to get a club sticker.
Or your Nazi referance.

Hey guys I thank you for all the flaming banter. http://www.pelicanparts.com/support/smileys/loki16.gif

My issue with this guy is simply,
How long should disgruntle club members wait before complaining on the internet that they have not got a sticker yet?

It matters not that exc911ence is complaining about R Gruppe. If after only 2 months he came on and slammed a business I'd still think he acted too quick to use the internet to satisfy his own agenda.

exc911ence a 2 month member just threw the lead R Gruppe person under the bus. I think he is out of line.

Cris receives hundreds of emails a month from members and prospects. Since Cris accepted your membership perhaps he thought you might act like a member and show the man a little patience.

dhoward 10-10-2003 08:27 AM

For $50 I'd expect a reply within a week.
Ted, you're an excellent example of R Guppy behavior.
:)

johncj8989 10-10-2003 08:32 AM

All disgruntled Porsche owners wanting to belong to a community I say this. There are two very viable options for you to consider. GruppeB (www.gruppeb.org) or The SCWDP (website coming).

Why you may ask do I promote the SCWDP in this post.... because without them we(gruppeb) are nothing. We would have nobody to battle against for world domination. Its no fun playing in the sandbox alone anyway right?!

The Rgruppe Im sure is a fine organization but just wired a little differently from our little outfits. We openly take eachother to task and taunt all in good fun. If you want to share that join one of us and forget about sending $50.00 checks. If you feel the need to contribute send your money to GruppeB and we will just donate it to a worthy cause like we did for little Austin. Now.....how the hell can you beat that. Plus we have cool stickers and shirts and we judge nobody or there car.

All of these ingredients form the best chicken soup for the Porsche enthusiast soul there is.

This thread is starting to resemble the "Why does this 911 keep showing up on ebay" thread. I think the whole thing is petty at best, but entertaining none the less. :D

dhoward 10-10-2003 08:37 AM

Sorry for perpetuating guys, I was feeling a little tabs-like. Felt pretty good though.......
Now, where's my piratin' outfit?

johncj8989 10-10-2003 08:53 AM

Im sure your not being scammed and will get the money back.

I know I appreciate their group because for one they offer up awesome pics of their events. That many long hoods in one setting make me grin from ear to ear.

With that being said....GruppeB will still crush them! :-)

tobluforu 10-10-2003 08:55 AM

I live in the bay area and have attended a few Rgruppe events at "Easy". I have met very nice people and have seen some amazing cars. But alas I'm not Rgruppe material. Do I care?-NOPE!
Did I ask for a membership-NOPE! Would I gave received one? Maybe, maybe not. Do I have a car that is classified "Rgruppe"? I sure think so. My classification was based on me knowing someone who sold a car to a fellow rgruppe member. The car was at one of the meetings. I asked if the person bought the car from a guy who lived in my town-Yes he did. Chris looked at me like I was an alien and walked a way. Oh well.. Booo, Hooo, Hooo...
But, I will still go to the events because it's a great venu to talk shop and gaze apon wonderfull cars.

k9handler 10-10-2003 09:01 AM

GruppeB is the way to go, so just make your move and enjoy all we have to offer!

Just curious...did you send a check or cash? In other words, I'm assuming a check...was it cashed?

Ted, why would you think that exc911ence is even still interested in becoming a member or putting a member sticker on his car?

I didn't think the issue was simply a sticker. It was months without any acknowledgment at all and no response to emails inquiring about his membership.

2 to 4 months without a response just flat out sucks!!! You people must think your $hit doesn't stink to believe that those who apply for membership are content to wait for months to go by until you are damned good and ready to acknowledge someone's application. I bet it didn't take that long to deposit the check! That is a poor reflection on R Gruppe's organizers and club members.

All exc911ence did was save this thread's author the disappointment of inquiring about becoming a member. Your attitude is beyond belief.

island911 10-10-2003 09:50 AM

What surpises me is that the remaining r-members (the more sane ones) don't chime in here. I mean it's like their silence says, 'geeze tabs, you were spot-on this whole time.'

At very least, one would think they would start kicking out non-representative "members" . . . or take away their SC swing-arms . . .or something!

johncj8989 10-10-2003 10:02 AM

A little verbal combat is good everyonce in awhile. Its been kinda slow in here lately.

Thanks guys!!http://www.pelicanparts.com/support/smileys/spankA.gif

This is probably how the bloods and crips started. If I was in the R Gruppe;s I'd watch out for drive by's. Calm down you crazy kids before someone looses an eye.

True, a wonderful insight that most of us on this thread are guilty of.
If R Gruppe really means that much to any of you talk to me face to face about it.
