Tabasco is good, but my favorites are Tapatio and Cholula.......I even put them in my top ramen.

Do tell....I haven't even heard of it. I am in Ohio so maybe that's the problem. While we may lack the latest Tabasco offerings, we currently have a freeway sniper cracking off shots about 80 miles from my location. Ohio sucks, I need to go to Callifornya!

Damned right! In California, they look you right in the eye as they drive alongside & open fire with a handgun. None of that sneaky ****, where you don't have a clue it's coming...or where it's coming from!
The sad thing? I'm guessing that both shooters and victims tried Tabasco at least once in their lives...The stuff should be declared illegal!

Who's been to Farmer's Market on 3rd and Fairfax? There's a "food" stall there that sells only hot sauce of various makes and nationalities. After years of seeing that place, I still haven't worked up the courage to go inside.

Cholula is great stuff. I like Tapatio as well. Along the lines of earlier advice, when I'm grilling burgers, I add a healthy dose of both to the ground beef, as well as diced shallots and grated asiago cheese.

Believe it or not, Emeril's Hot Pepper sauce makes for stellar chili, too.

Tabasco is made on Avery Island just south of New Iberia. Avery Island is actually a salt dome and a sanctuary for the Snowy Egret. Nice tours at the Tabasco plant and Avery Island. I live about 40 minutes from there

Thanks. It's been about 30 years since I was in La. at all, so I don't remember much of it.

Sambal Oelek (Fresh Ground Chili Paste) is the stuff that will melt the hair right off your Jacobs. It is a staple of Thai and SE Asian Food. The stuff made in the States is made by Huy Fong Foods Inc, 5001 EarleAve, Rosemead, CA 91770. 626-286-8328, www.huyfong.com

An 18 oz jar will last me well over a year. It costs about $2.50 in an Asian market. Check out the web site they have other intrigueing products as well.

They just did a piece on the Tabaso co on the food channel. I love the stuff. There's more than one homemade chilli ristra in my kitchen.

I also used to grow Scotch Bonnets....woof, they were hot.

The hottest....

Another vote for Cholula - My Favorite. A number of flavors rather than the strong single note of Tabasco.

I enjoy making kabob, I'll definately have to spread some on a few skewers to test it out, God that sounds good........

Man, you guys are killing me! I'm about to eat my laptop!

Idea: A Mulholland Run/Tapia Park barbeque, featuring steaks, chops, chicken and Amir's kabob. Maybe in the Spring? Maybe sooner?

We could get a chase car to carry all the goods up to the park if one wanted to volunteer.
