Maybe there's a 450hp Cayenne TT V8 under that hood...

The sticker looks too straight. It does not bend with the top of the windshield line. Questionable Photoshop job......

EDIT: that picture is totally a mustang. it's all photoshoped. the lights, bumper, hood scoops. other than that it's the same thing.

Latest Road&Track has an artist rendition of a new "928" using the Cayenne engine.....maybe it'll work this time since there is no aircooled 911 to compete with

Were they trying to make some kind of a point? I'm praying the new Mustang looks better in pictures, right now it looks like the bastard child of a '69 and a Mustang II, or maybe that's just me. First new platform in 20 some years, and they still use a live rear axle?! They claim it's a cost issue, but lots of sub 20K cars have 4 wheel independent suspension. 300HP is nice, but a suspension that's 30 years outdated before the car debuts? Please

The first pic is of the concept version (except for the Porsche decal), not a bad looking car. The blue car is the watered-down production version... I knew they'd screw it up.

With some wheels and less truckish looking mirrors it definately has some potential.

I disagree with the haters.

I think the concept car looks great.

But why did Ford, after bringing the GT out with so little alteration from the show car, feel the need to screw around with the Mustand and 'water it down' as exc911ence so aptly put it...

I like it.
I saw it in red, definitely looks more agressive than the powder blue.
Think what it'd look like in black, gunmetal, or Nogaro Blue©

The new Mustang looks sad. Maybe Carroll Shelby will brighten it up some.

That is the watered down 6 cylinder. They increased displacement on the 6 cyl "rent-a-car" to get 202 or 210 hp. The V8 mustang has a more aggressive front facia, lower air scoop, 60's era fog/driving lights in the grill and other improvements.

I was reading a car magazine and they listed the improvements. It shares 30% of the chassis components with the Lincoln LS platform, retains 30% from the last chassis and has 40% new bits. Chassis rigidity is double the last platform.

The live rear axle was for cost and to cater to their market of drag racers. They claim it is easier to swap rear-end ratios and the live axle is beefier for hopped up motors. They did do something right in making provisions in the chassis for the SVT Cobra versions and potential Shelby versions (battle yet to start on who will make / name it) that will have IRS. I got a kick out of the magazine article calling the front Mcpherson strut design outdated but, that BMW has had success (as well as other high end cars) making "it work". I have a tuned "outdated" suspension on my iX and it handles wonderfully.

Saw the Mustang in person last year. I liked it considering all the stupid moves American car companies have been making lately. Astetically It blows away the GTO. Seems Pontiac is on a suicide mission.

The pic at the top of the thread first hit me as an older Aston Martin.
