Bummer about the bar, Byron. I have a lot of great memories - all from your pictures but they seem real to me.

This is where I DON'T take my 930. 4 wheel drive only, completely off the grid with spring water and solar+inverter for AC power. Even a composting ****ter and wood-fired hot tub. Sitting on my 40 acres at about 3800 feet elevation. Great place to get away from it all...and to tear up the countryside on our MX dirt bikes. Built from scratch by yours truely back when I had the stamina and beer to do it. Sorry for the old crappy pictures; have a much nicer camera now.

Cool!

What sort of maintenance on that kind of thing (wood, walls, goop between the logs, etc....)?

I rolled these little guys off my roof & kept Mama at bay with a stick until I deposited them over my back fence.

Yea, sold, it will remain a bar, but the new owner (Larry) is gutting it to the shell, in about 90 days it will open as a Cheers.. (he has 2 in town,) but will move one out of a strip center to here, the other is already a stand alone bar across the river.. When my shop is finished, I'll hang the He-Man boards on the walls..

It's always a shame to see a fun place, with character, like that go away for a nice "sanitized, packaged, bar experience" type of place that it seems like it's going to be. Catering to a totally different audience, meaning the old fun crowd is going to have to find some place new.

A fun beach bar we've frequented in Costa Rica...

That sucks. It's tough to find a good old fashioned fun bar. Here's pics of some coasters from bars I frequented back in Germany...

Byron,

Those are very nice cats! And if I may say so, they are better looking than you are.
