MPEG, MP2 Audio Files?????????
For some reason, I can no longer 'right click' and save MPEG or most other video files. My computer automatically saves video files as "MP2 Audio" files and these cannot be viewed with Real Player or Media Player. There is no other option available in the little pull-down window when I'm saving a video file. Any suggestions? I'm running XP Home Edition on this computer. Thanks. -- Curt
Well, I decided to do a 'system restore' to a date a couple of months ago. It worked! Still don't know how it got screwed up. Last edited by cegerer; 05-23-2004 at 01:11 PM.. |

Glad you fixed your problem - another tip if you are trying to save a movie and it is only playing in the browser is to go into your temporary internet files and copy the file out of there. It sounds like the files were saving properly but the file associations were mixed up causing the wrong programs to open up the video files and vice versa.

Hmmm ...
Try something like this -- go into the control panel (as in Start|CtrlPanel), then Folder Options, then hit the "File Types" tab. The file types are sorted by extension, so scroll down to the MP section and see what it looks like. Random thought, probably wrong... Dan
