Do you have cat problems? You might like this.

I wish my 911 could do this:

Thanks for the laugh. I'll remember that next time one of the neighborhood cats marks my tires.

Why can't we have good Ford commercials like that here?

There was a good follow up one where the kitty grabs the catnip mouse that is attached to the running ceiling fan.

I like cats, but these are just too funny to pass up.

The way I hear it, yes...the cat died making the video. Don't ask me what I like to do to those who baited the cat, obviously a well fed pet, to it's death...but I will admit, I'd do about the same thing I would, if I could, do to those who beheaded Daniel Pearl...I'm no PETA nut, but cats ARE sentinent beings, and should be treated as such...ditto pesky raccoons. I believe in dispatching vermin...but not for amusement or advertising.

You guys do realize there are laws about such things, don't you? I doubt that a major company would produce a commercial in which a cat dies, you do realize things on TV aren't real, don't you?

Actually it is all CGI (and a viral commercial):

http://www.snopes.com/photos/commercials/sportka.asp

http://www.joeytomatoes.com/fordcat.htm

Title: Ford Cat
Type: Viral*
Agency: Ogilvy
Advertiser: Ford
Brand Name: Ford SportKa
Country of Production: UK
Market: Europe
Target: Young males 18-34
Campaign: Evil Twin
Type: Television
Air date: 2004
Length:40 sec

Viral Video Clip
Viral marketing, if leaked without permission, can be like a contagious disease.
Silently transmitted and virtually uncontrollable, it can create unintended distress.
On April 1, an unapproved viral advertisement featuring a Ford Sportka car was leaked
onto the internet and began to be transmitted by email around the world.
This "advertisement" was not approved for release and was not sanctioned by either Ogilvy or our client Ford.
The action in the video clip was totally computer generated, and we would like to
assure you that no animal was harmed in its making.
Ogilvy and Ford of Europe deeply regret that this unapproved and unofficial
video clip was accidentally released and apologize for any offense it has caused.
