I am getting board with my daily driver, maybe a Mini

Thinking maybe a mini, really hate to spend good money on a car I am going to trash.

Any thoughts on a Mini S.

Michael

I've driven a friend's Mini S for about 100 miles. it's a nice car. But in truth, I think you can get an RSX (Type S) Integra for about the same money and have something fairly fast.

I test drove an RSX type S and was pretty impressed. More room for stuff, and the build quality is higher than on the Mini (plus it is cheaper). But it doesn't have quite the go-kart handling of the Cooper, or the style (which could be good or bad depending on how you feel).

They kinda scratch different itches...

M Logo The mini?

With the price of the Mini, why don't you just opt for an 240 HP E-36 M3? I'm sure you could find something nice (96-99)....

Just my input. . . . .

On the other hand I may have a Mini in my driveway soon, due to political reasons of course....

I test drove the Mini S. Very fun car. The only thing I didn't like was the reverse gear. You have to push hard to the left to get it into reverse. Are looking to replace the Porsche or one of your other cars?

Are dealers still asking over sticker for Cooper S's? I stopped at the Calabasas Mini dealer a few months ago for a look and they were asking about $3.5K over sticker. Crazy.

Not sure if this was intended for me but if so then: I may replace the M3 with it, only because I don't want any cars left outside. I'd like for them to be "in-door" items...

Just out of curiousity - left outside means no garage. Are you going to be able to fit the Mini in a garage somewhere else? It is not much smaller than the M3. By the way, do you have any pix of your M3. I don't know what blue book or your time frame is but I know a few people that might be interested if you do decide to get rid of it.
