disappointed in the forum

Posted a message about a high RPM miss on an 85 carerra. Two responses neither of which applied. Where is all the experience?

Also sent a tech request to Pelican... was sent a troubleshooting diagram.

Tell me it get's better than this.

there is a good search feature.... try different combos of keywords..... it requires some reading but I'm sure it's been covered extensively before

When the forum is really active, as it seems to be lately, questions can get lost in the shuffle. Don't give up.

As for Pelican Parts itself, they're not paid to be mechanics and I wouldn't necessarily expect them to troubleshoot a problem. The forum should bring ideas, eventually.

Disapointed in this post!

There's people on this forum who will go waaaay out of their way to help each other: whatever the question and whoever is asking..

Hang around a little before you start complaining about bad service.

You have 3 posts and your already dissapointed? There could be a number of reasons why your post did not get a response. Trouble shooting post with vague diagnosis are the least likely because finding someone who has had the same high RPM miss on a late 80's 911 if relatively slim. Many like me are not going the throw out a diagnosis without some prior experience. This is not a panel of mechanics sitting at the keyboard, just mostly enthusiast. I've post similar questions and have minimal replies. I've also posted things like "Check this out..." and have got dozens. It's all hit or miss, no sense accusing readers of not solving your problem. I personally don't have a clue what your car is doing. That is why they have mechanics.

A high RPM miss could have any one of a number of causes. As someone else said this is largely a bunch of folks who help by relating, "yeah that happened to me, and it turned out to be...". Patiently searching is very helpful, and perhaps someone will eventually recognize your car's symptoms.

Sorry, but there's the answer to your issue...none of the info you posted later was in the first post, and it came off pretty whiny sounding.

Most would call the last line sarcastic at best....

Did you know in the parallel world that we might all one day find ourselves in "hate" really is "love."
