I am 34 and have had mine since the age of 22. One of my friends is 20 and drives an 80 930. Another is around the same age and is doing a 73 RS project. So it varies. Trust me, there is youth with taste out there. Young guys are thrill seekes. So am I since I never grew up. And since the older the 911 is, the more thrills it provides, that's where the smart kids are headed. Generally, they don't care for the newer stuff. Mind you, these are affluent smart kids with taste. Definitely not average.
When I was 22, there were many reasons for buying my 911. But one of the main reasons was that I was sick and tired of buying cars to have them become boring or boring looking over time. Basically, I wanted something that I would buy once and never bother having to buy a car again. Basically, as a 22 year old, I looked at the 911 as the car that would end all future car purchases. Of course it helped that I was a 935 fanatic when I was a kid. My 911 has served that purpose well. I guess it was one of the few moments of wisdom I had at that drunken and stoned age. |
I'm 35 and my car is a 72.

I'm 26, and I'd get an older car if I could afford a second. An older 912, or even a 356? Oh, baby ...
|
Jeez, you guys are pups- or it could be that I'm a late starter. Been an "ol' man" for 5 years now. What's inspiring though is that we have a fella in the Peachstate region who, in his 80s, still kicks a$$ at autocross. My hero. I think I'll go shave my ears now...

OK...I'm 54, got my first "long hood" when I was 25ish and have had long hoods ever since. Does that count?

I'm 34 and my '69 is 35...

I'm 18 and own a '67 912. That counts don't it. Car is being restored in my garage. It's my first car and I wouldn't want anything else.......'cept maybe a 911.
