Sorry Billy, brave Mul won't answer this question. It's old news. He is a HomeBoy Patriot. Let's others do his fighting for him.
The vast majority of Americans didn't or don't serve; did/have you?

Certainly being patriotic or proud or having opinion is certainly not reserved only for those who did, is it?

I've never served in the armed forces; does that make me (and millions like me) "Homeboy Patriots"?? Do we all fall under the heading of letting others do our fighting for us??

Quite frankly, I find the idea that those who don't/didn't serve are somehow lesser insulting.

Mule 08-23-2004 06:43 AM

Agreed!

lendaddy 08-23-2004 07:22 AM

Step back and realize how asinine that statement is Lynn. I have spoken with countless vets and the vast majority (proven through polls) agreed with the plan for war. Now the fact that I chose not to serve means I cannot agree with the men whom I respect? Ya, that makes sense. Am I a little less for not serving? Ya I would say so, and a big part of me regrets it, but the fact that my opinion is in line with the majority that did makes me feel better. Also, you are the first I've ever heard try to berate those who did not, most have more class and are humble in their service.

lendaddy 08-23-2004 07:44 AM

Look Yankee,

I said the statement is asinine, and it is. If you want to make the connection to your general demeanor, so be it. Am I comfortible sending others to war, ofcourse not. No one is believe it or not. Now since you made the distinction, should only those who've seen combat be allowed to comment on war? I mean we gotta boil this down to who is really allowed to comment right.

lendaddy 08-23-2004 08:23 AM

Great, we're done then. I guess they should teach us early who is allowed to have an opinion. I'm off to golf. Buh bye.

Some one has to stay home and beat the living BS outta of communists and other socialist miscreants (see Democrats)...It is a job I happen to be good at.

"When I signed up for the swift boats, they had very little to do with the war. They were engaged in coastal patrolling and that's what I thought I was going to be doing." -- John "seared, seared in my memory" Kerry

Sorta evens out the "Bush took the easy way out" argument don't it?

Now all we have left is Kerry is a liar who manufactured Purple Hearts, stabbed his fellow veterans in the back, won the war for the communist butchers and hired a National Security Advisor caught stealing top secret and sensitive documents during an important investigation.

huh.. . . how 'bout that!? Another Swift Boat combat memory turns fuzzy.

Though I still don't see that the lib's are getting it.
John Kerry's many stories are NOT even close to being consistant with each other, regardless of the SBVfT.. . .or GW Bush.

Kerry has a serious crediblity problem. No one takes the guy seriously.

OTOH, if GW Bush sez "hand-over your terrorists or we will kick the crap outta ya" . . . it will happen.

back to Kerry-- "hand-over your terrorists or I'll twist you arm . . unless you give me some sort of reverence award"

In these times, this is important.

Mulholland 08-23-2004 10:19 AM

Kerry committed treason...Bush did not.

I would think that elevates Bush' service above Kerry's.

techweenie 08-23-2004 10:26 AM

The last three weeks of news have countered key claims of the Swifties, and links have been found between one of the key people behind SBCfT and the Bush administration.

So Bush's appearance today will give him the opportunity to distance himself from the slimers.

What do you think he'll say?

Bush has distanced himself...In fact he had absolutely nothing to do with them, other than being the opposition to Kerry...To say otherwise is a lie.

That said, the Swift Boat Veterans apparently need a good thorough discrediting, which must be relatively simple listening to the way you libs slander and impugn them.

Sign the form 180 John Kerry...Prove yourself either right or wrong...You said you would and you LIED (again).

What do you expect him to say? The've already condemned ALL of these ad as a practice, why would he need to condemn a particular one?

Says it all right there doesn't it?...Three weeks (?) of hostile media coverage, no tough questions asked of Kerry, no focus on his lies from Cambodia under Nixon, no grilling for total release of records.

Where was the intrepid press when the NAACP released ads tying Bush to the dragging death of James Byrd?...Where was the intrepid press when MoveOn.org (George Soros, etc) were airing ads suggesting Bush was Hitler?...Where was the intrepid press when Michael Moore released his fiction F911?

I'll tell you where...Giving them free advertising and friendly interviews.

Swift Boat Veterans not running for office, many decorated highly and served their full tours...AHHHHH....SLIMERS!....ATTACK DOGS!

You people are so full of crap you are beginning to smell like it.

Mule 08-23-2004 11:01 AM

There you go again Mul. Do you think its fair to put a pound of truth & reason in a sock, wind it up & beat these guys with it?

You can have your own opinion but not your own facts.

Moneyguy1 08-23-2004 11:12 AM

"But I know Kerry had this master plan"......

Even FOX wouldn't buy that one......

As has been pointed out many times before, that never happened.

I dont know who's feeding you this stuff, but it's really wacky.

And the press was all over 9/11, they just can't find that many problems with it -- just like nobody here has managed to find anything except the newspaper 'headline' that wasn't.

It really sounds like your world is one big paranoid fantasy. But I guess when you live in a city that will go 61% for Kerry, you're probably going to be constantly annoyed. Calling Kerry a 'commie' and a 'traitor' isn't winning you any converts, you know.

They were all over promoting it despite it being a campaign finance violation and riddled with deception...No where near the scrutiny the Swift Votes $150,000 commercial has been receiving.

HOW MANY OF YOU ACTUALLY MADE THE FLIGHT HOME FROM VIETNAM?????.

techweenie 08-23-2004 03:49 PM

Mul, those were among ideas for ads submitted by hundreds of people not unlike yourself.

They were never produced and never aired. They only exist as little video snippets on the Internet.

They were put up to be voted on for one or two choices for MoveOn to produce. They got almost no votes. Some think the videos were created by right-wing ringers to make MoveOn look bad.

In any case, MoveOn neither produced nor aired them.

Unless you want to argue about what 'aired' is... FYI, common parlance is broadcast = aired.
