Gun Controll - name the individual I am quoting.
Let's hear who you beleive made the following quote regarding gun control. Extra points if you can tell me the year it references.
“This year will go down in history. For the first time a civilized nation has full gun registration! Our streets will be safer, our police more efficient, and the world will follow our lead into the future.”

Did he speak any other prophetic words?

Hitler...a common bumper sticker advertised in Gun publications. The problem? Some question the veracity of the quote...

OK, obvioulsy too easy as it is on bumper stickers. I never heard it. . . . . How about this one. It covers the same general topic. I deleted the local referenced as it may provide too much of a clue.
"Hence also do I advocate training in arms for those who believe in the method of violence. I would rather have ______ resort to arms in order to defend her honor than that she should in a cowardly manner become or remain a helpless witness to her own dishonor."

Well since it's Sunday and nobody is playing, it was Ghandi who said and the blank would be India. I least I think so as I post that with confidence.

Sorry, I was busy hunting/gathering/purchasing Porsche parts. Would have gotten it wrong, anyway...
Now back to our regularly scheduled off topic discussion.

I hope I'm not drifting too far off. Adolph also said these things, but probably not on a bumper sticker:
<< What good fortune for those in power that people do not think. Strength lies not in defence but in attack. Success is the sole earthly judge of right and wrong. The broad masses of a population are more amenable to the appeal of rhetoric than to any other force. The great masses of the people will more easily fall victims to a big lie than to a small one. The leader of genius must have the ability to make different opponents appear as if they belonged to one category. The victor will never be asked if he told the truth. Who says I am not under the special protection of God? As a Christian I have no duty to allow myself to be cheated, but I have the duty to be a fighter for truth and justice. >> Sherwood |
