Can God microwave a burrito so hot that not even he could eat it?

Can God make a joint so big that he can't bogart it?

This is all very witty - but has not genetic research pointed to a small number of common ancestors? The whole Adam and Eve story might not be so far fetched...

Some of you know I have taught religious education at a Catholic church. One of the books I have used is entitled "Did Adam and Eve Have Belly Buttons." It is a collection of theological questions, and discussions. This question is nicely illustrative of an important principle in bible reading. The point is that if you get hung up on questions of biology (or physics or meteorology or.....) you're going to miss the real point.
We procreate. We "beget" each other. God Begot Jesus, so they are related. It's a family thing. By contrast, we are created creatures. Created by Him. That's an important distinction. Jesus is blood relation to God. We are not. We are His project. Like a track car. This has important theological implications. I'd take a wild guess that Adam and Eve did not have belly buttons. But it wouldn't matter if they did. Similarly, I suspect that a "day" of creation was more than 24 standard hours. But again, it does not matter how long it took God to create the Universe. Getting hung up on those question is a trap. |

Small = 1. I think it was the evaluation of mitochondrial DNA the led to the conclusion that all of Earth's current inhabitants are decendents of a single female who lived something like 30,000 years ago. That's about exactly how long ago Eve lived in a fully literal interpretation of geneology given in the bible. It's also about the place in history where the evolutionary disconnect is located.

Looks like it to me. Here is an early photo of the couple.

That's frightening, B. I'm gonna still be an out-of-control liberal maniac when you've posted some war mongering anti-social conservative dribble. But in the meantime, it's delightful that you imagine me to be sensible. Have you seen the "Conservative Christian?" thread?

Not yet. But I will. I love the holidays. So much good cheer and all that good will and etc.
Tonight is a pelican get together in NYC. Wish all yous guys could make it... |
you must remember that the leaves were not in use on adam and eve until they ate of the apple.
Did they have belly buttons what does it matter. The big question is are you right with God Michael |
Walko,
God is not right with me at the moment. |
Wish I could be there. I'm actually fairly personable, and occasionally reasonable. Have a very blessed Christmas season, B. I think you may have some understanding of the unbearably beautiful love that He gives us, so I hope that touches you again. It's really unbearable when you catch a glimpse of it. Changes everything. As you may know.

Does that mean he will help me do faster lap times
