Did Adam and Eve Have Belly Buttons?

Hi guys,

Someone in the office just asked me this question and I am stumped.

I would have thought the answer is "yes". But then, given they did not arrive in the traditional manner - maybe not.

Confused.

I am going with no but when you find the answer, please also ask what came first, the chicken or the egg?

Victor 12-08-2004 03:41 PM

Ahh yes - that old chestnut.

I thought it was common knowledge that the chicken arrived with an egg at the same time.

techweenie 12-08-2004 03:55 PM

Of course they didn't have belly buttons.

And their children didn't mate with each other, either.

Well, Adam and Eve were created in God's image, so if we extrapolate the question, then we have:

DOES GOD HAVE A BELLY-BUTTON?

:D

Taaa-Daaa!

I would say Yes.

My reasoning. If God Created man and woman in the manner in which we are today then Yes - they would have belly buttons.

my $9.28

But God can't have created them the way we do now - A&E where the first. Besides - that would be some form of bizarre trans species incest.

They arrived here buck naked but for some strategically placed vine leaves - remember?

Why "soutinly"!!! (how is it spelled it the way 'Curly' would pronounce it?)
Adam had an 'outie'...
Eve han an 'innie'...
Then, like babies discovering their bods...
They ate the metaphorical apple and Adam ended up with a "woodie" :)

pwd72s 12-08-2004 04:30 PM

God's balls! Of course they had belly buttons!

johnco 12-08-2004 06:08 PM

how could they? And the real question is...Adam and Eve had Cain and Abel. Cain killed Abel. that leaves Mother, Father and Son.. but somehow, they populated the Earth? hmmmm... these kinds of questions got me in serious trouble in cathechism... starting in 1st grade, ending in 4th grade when I was threatened with excommunication for skipping classes. There ended my religious education. BTW, the egg came first. Dinosaurs laid eggs long before chickens evolved from their prehistoric ancestors. hehehe.

According to some "biblical historians", Adam and Eve story is the first recorded story, not necessarily the first "people". Hey, History had to start somewhere!!

A special way back on either History or Discovery examined this hypothesis

Maybe we are all an alien experiement gone terribly wrong?.

klaucke 12-08-2004 06:46 PM

Someone find out if apes have belly buttons! If they do, we must, after all, they are at the base of our family tree.......

johnco 12-08-2004 06:54 PM

with my limited knowledge, I'd think the only mammals without a belly button would be the Platypus and the Echidna, since they do lay eggs instead of live birth

God is love, love is blind, Ray Charles is God! LOL :D

I believe they just arrived here naked. The leaves came later.

I vote to get Eve posted on the Grid Girls thread :D

While we are pondering such things, my I put forth the following:

Can God create a rock so big that He cannot lift it?
