I'll second that, Z-Man. People like KK make life give us born-again types a pretty bad reputation. Given evangelism like this, I can't blame anyone for being a bit disgruntled with those who call themselves "born-again." (sigh)

I do not know about the born again’s you have met Stuart. The ones I know (and yes - there's many of them) have a veneer of sanity so thin you can see right through it as soon as you deviate from talking about money or topics directly related to the amassing of wealth and worldly goods. So far the only ones who don’t agree with this on some level are the ones at the (or close to) the bottom of the hierarchy. It’s how these systems work.

Hmmm, I would have thought that the hierachy of "born again Christians" are on a much higher level and only important to them ?. When I was young (er) I had a friend somewhat older than me, his name was (is) Mark, a major gear head, jack the lad, smoked (not just cigarettes), drank, cursed, took care of his mom and younger half siblings and was a really funny, nice guy....one day he met a "born again" woman and found God!....It didn't change him and he never preached, just kept it to himself unless you asked him about it, those are the real converts, happy within themselves and happy to share with those that ask and comfortable with those that don't.

Why would you say he is confused? Sounds like he is worshiping his God and not trying to get into anyone else's business. We all choose to worship (or not) for different reasons. Sharing ideas can be interesting as long as the sharing doesn't turn into being an uncomfortable encounter which can occur with all types of Christians, Jews, Buddists, et al.

This is actually going back some years, for all I know he fell off the wagon by now, I really don't care enough about it to argue his case, I was just arguing a comment made by yourself. I really don't care what people do with themselves, I'm not the kind of person who seeks guidance or looks for answers, I don't even check the weather forecast because it really doesn't make a difference what they say, the weather will do what it does anyway, I have the same outlook on politics... don't know, don't care.

Sounds to me like your outlook is a far better way to live than to worry about the daily converson tally. Religion can be the greatest source of relief or the biggest scam, seems like there can be plenty out there looking to get money or power and are very well schooled in how to deal with objections and take advantage of folks at there lowest.

Well ,I can't do anything about it so I don't care, and I mean that in the sense that I don't let it bother me. I let the little things occupy my time like people who wait in the fire lane outside the supermarket or morons that can't understand that the recyclers will not take cardboard that hasn't been cut into 12"x12" pieces or slobs that don't pick up their dog crap, I'll leave the "biggies" for others to worry about.

More power to you. I could get real controversial and suggest that recycling is bad for the environment, but thats a whle other thread.
