haven't had that problem myself. it always logs me in whenever I try to go there. in fact, last time I went there was after not having done so for a few months. I was all ready to enter my passwd but surprisingly it logged me right in

Yes I think so. A while back some people were able to hack into their database and hijack good profiles.

The scam: They would 'find' a profile that had, say 150 or more transactions with at or near 100% positive feedback. Then the 'hacker' would redirect the profile's link to their email address.
The item for auction would be a high ticket ride like a late model Harley or SUV at a "Buy-it-now price" about half of what it would normally sell for.

The 'seller' would explain in detail that the reason for the 'fire sale' was a family emergency, maybe medical or the company they worked for was transfering them outside the states immediately.

The bidding was also private and for pre-approved bidders only to seperate the men from the boys. The 'winner' then sent his money via Paypal or other secure funds to the sellers 'escrow' account while the seller made arrangements for shipping.............................yeah, right. You can guess the rest.

Ebay since then has really stepped up security to gaurd against these guys.

Same problem here - IE and Firefox.

To view MY EBAY - I have to log in everytime - even though it says I am logged in.

It's happened to me, but it only asks me to re-log in when I want to bid; which I don't mind so much, as it *could* be anybody at my computer. If, for instance, my oh-so-funny pal who's killing time on my 'puter while I'm doing something else gets on and bids on a bunch of shyt in my name I'm not going to be very happy w/ eBay.

JP

EDIT -- Wayne, here's a bug: you and I spell eBay the old skool way; how long ago did they go to "ebay"? And why?

Reminds me of the time I found out a former friend from college bought a unitard from eBay. He adamantly denied the evidence. Thing is eBay sends you a confirmation email for each bid and at auction end, so not only did someone have to hack his eBay password, they also hacked his email account and deleted the emails. I called BS. It's a revolting thought: 245 lbs grown man in a unitard. Oh, man, my eyes!!!
