about $350B in unreported income is expected this year. They don't pay so there's enough room for legit payers.
More and more people are being pushed into doing the Alternate Minimum Tax filing every yr thru inflation. I think the minimum hr's for doing your taxes both ways for comparison is 20-30hrs X CPA fees of $200-$300/hr. Investors in KY stock should prosper. ps: I should have written $350B in unreported taxes due.

Here's a peach for ya.
So those who know my story know that this has been a horrible year financially. My wife and I have had to sell virtually all liquid assets to get squared away at our new income (45% of previous). This included an IRA. These funds were used to keep us afloat, you know pay our bills like good Americans and avoid bankrupcy. It sucked, but life goes on. Well, the effen IRS decides that this is not a good enough reason to have withdrawn the funds, so ON TOP of the taxes on this money the'de like a few grand in penalties as well! F em, F'em all. Next time I'll just go bankrupt I guess. ARgggghhh ![]()

Here's my IRS tale;
I was "randomly" picked for a full audit in 2002. I was assigned to 3 hungry IRS agents who started an inquiry will all the enthusiasm of a CSI team at a triple homicide. I instructed them to direct all inquiries to my accountant, as I didn't even understand the questions they were asking. My accountant is extremely conservative, so I probably pay more taxes than I should. Anyway, after a three day strip-search the IRS came up with NOTHING. Not a damn thing. The lead auditor called me at home and told me that they would surely come up with something very expensive very soon, but if I would agree to a "negotiated settlement" of $5,000, they would stop the audit. He explained that my accounting fees might be much more than that if he continued the audit. I calmly asked him to put his offer in writing so I could have him arrested for extortion. The audit was stopped. I paid no penalties or fines. They can kiss my big, hairy arse.

With all the "uproar" about steroid use in baseball people think I'm crazy when I mention that I'm more concerned about criminal activity by gov't officials (police, elected politicians, judges, etc) than some athlete "ruining" a sport that has a history of trying to exterminate itself.

I think that if the war goes nuclar here in the US that we'll have martial law?
otherwise if judges keep shaping society to their whims the issue gets worse. I don't like a top down gov't. Currently Arnold seems to be trying to return it to the voters. It'll be interesting for sure.

I came home today to find a letter dated the 11th from the IRS telling me I had to file a form by the 9th of April? Hello, that was two days before they mailed the letter.

The courts have been used to shape society thru rulings on "due process" lawsuits. The failure of progressive groups to achieve their agenda thru the legislature after WW2 forced them into the courts. This split in the social values created two distinct groups, the traditionalists and the progressives. The clearest rejection of the progressives policies was shown in the last Pres election. As what happened in the progressives legislative failures, the astute progresive politicans today are chanting tradition and values. Those progressive politicians that don't recognize this will eventually be jobless. The formerly political netural "religious right" has been seeking tradition and values in the Rep party because the Dem's are into co-ed dorms +++ etc. The yahoo conservatives is an outgrowth of progressive instilled erosion of values since the ending of the 'Nam war. fwiw. Hillary has been currently speaking of returning "values" to children and family. So if I'm correct in believing that the Clintons are great politicians then that means the progressive agenda is an acknowledged failure. Hillary isn't a bs-ing Pres wife anymore. She's appealing to the population center in the greatest challenge of her life. She wants to clearly define right and wrong and appeal to both parties' center . Therefore, "otherwise if judges keep shaping society to their whims the issue gets worse. I don't like a top down gov't". The push to the legislature by the yahoos with the support of the "religious right" is a forced necessary arena where values and tradition can be broadly discussed and argued. The bottom-up approach to social agenda puts the future with the people, not the progressive selected "judge of issue". I gotta agree with Hillary on this one. "Check out the US constitution sometime." ....... ok ----------------------------------------------------------------- "Judges aren't spending the money, the (currently republican) congress is." I never wrote that judges were spending money. Congress is like a drinking party with an unlimited credit card. Sabraines-Oxly sic disclosure policy on corp's should also include Congress. Currently Congress spends the money and refuses to react to negative performance evaluations of its programs. Taxpayers can't even sue for damages. Those that break the public trust thru malfeacense sic should be prosecuted... For entertainment watch the high tax Blue State voters get whacked with the Alternate Minimum Tax/ AMT now, and more and more in the coming years compared to the Red States. State taxes + all kinds of deductions don't apply under S-O. It's obvious that the high state tax states also pay relatively high Fed taxes now. This means that the Blue state Dem's have been subsidizing the Red states already. It'll be kinda wierd watching the Dem's seeking tax reform in order to lower taxes.

Hey John... I guess it was a convoluted way to say I hate the Judicial system today. This relates to their "top-down" social agenda. Oh, BTW.. I heard that the Supreme Court will rule on whether punishment of criminals violates their civil rights or not.. LOL

The R-Party refined the act. The R-Party has had 2-3 x as many "attachments" to spending bills as the D-Party had under Clinton. Congress is dysfunctional imo.

Getting OT from the thread, I guess, but I don't see the courts as having a top-down judicial agenda.
When I think of all the things the government does that makes me angry, that infringe on my privacy, that waste my money, that are just plain stupid - 99% of them are done by the executive and legislative branches, and 1% by the judicial branch. The courts spend the vast - and I mean vast, 99.99% - of their time handling the usual sort of cases that never make the press. 0.01% of the time they get stuck with a high-profile, controversial case - whether it be Terri Schaivo or OJ or whatever. However they decide those cases, there's always some politician in front of a camera trying get some airtime by attacking the decision. Kind of like how Tom Delay is trying to divert attention from his ethical problems by threatening to impeach judges who don't decide the way he wants, or how Bill Frist is trying to kiss ass on the religious right (with an eye on 2008) by appearing in ads attacking the judiciary as anti-Christian. It is easy sport for politicians, because the judges cannot fight back. They are bound by judicial ethics rules not to comment on their cases, and actually reading the details of the decisions is too much work for media and bloggers. For the politicians, it must be like taking candy from babies. So too many people get fooled. Well, don't be. Who passed the ridiculolusly complicated tax law that has you tearing your hair out? Who has us running record budget deficits? Who mismanaged the intelligence agencies? Who agreed to let China into the WTO without a floating currency? Who sticks billions of dollars of pork into the appropriations bills each year? Guess what - its not the judiciary. And this case that you referred to "Oh, BTW.. I heard that the Supreme Court will rule on whether punishment of criminals violates their civil rights or not.. LOL" It doesn't exist, and I assume you know it.
