Just reported that last year's quake that triggered the tsunamis was the largest ever recorded.

Related in some sense, seismologists have determined downtown L.A. is slowly moving north toward the San Gabriel Valley at about 8mm a year. The fear isn't the fact downtown will, in 1 million years, be sitting atop the Norton Simon Museum in Pasadena, but instead the earthquakes that will occur because of this seismic movement. It is said that downtown L.A. can expect a nice 6.0 or greater rumbler in the not-so-distant future.

Well, I live in the desert, does that count? Yeah, it's hot, but the people are SO not as annoying as those who live in the Kalifornia.
