I'm always thinking that I'm gonna get socked at a Pelican gathering, but it hasn't happened yet.

Actually, I have been known to lose my serenity from time to time. I come from Minnesota, where fighting was just about as common as breathing amongst drunken Scandinavians, so I know how to bait the fuch out of someone until they swing first, (for legal purposes). I could get Ghandi to throw down if neccesary.

never been in a fight. never thrown a punch. Been close though. My first kung fu instructor had very important rules that I follow to this day:

when confronted:
walk away. If that doesn't work, run away. If that doesn't work, fight quick and dirty and end it.

Luckily I've done 1 and 2 but not 3. San Soo is ugly fighting

Yeah.. I've been in a few fights myself. Got my nose broke once and a few busted lips.

I avoid places like that now. Its just not worth it.

Jon drives a Electric Green Mustang GT Vert. It stands out pretty good especially on empty roads late at night.

The guys friend got the tag # and called in the "assault"

Because Jon left the scene and was unhurt he was instantly guilty.

He hired an attorney and it cost him over $5K. The guy he punched NEVER showed in the courtroom. Like I said once the State Atty. got hold of it they would not drop it. He was charged with burglery and assault.

Burglery because he reached into the guys truck to punch him.

I agree with you its wacked. It goes to show that you are guilty until proven innocent. I have friends / Employees that have gotten tangled into the legal system. Its a joke.

He now has to deal with a power tripping parole officer. I am constantly having to let him off of work to go to his meetings. The officer makes the meeting when he feels it a good time for him not caring its affecting Jons job. Parole officer even called my office sort of tattle tailing on Jon.

He asked me if I knew Jon was on parole. I said yes, he asked why ans I said because some punk ass pussy poked his nose where it didnt belong, got what he was asking for and was not man enough to own up to his stupidity. I went on to tell him I was pissed because he was now jerking Jon around and a less understanding boss would fire him for having to take time off for this BS.

That was basically the end of the conversation. I am sure the power tripper doesn't like me too much.

Deep truth here. Belligerent, antagonistic and reckless people rarely find success in life. No point in beating them up. Chances are they've already beaten themselves.

me too!

actually the pelicans that know me see through the smart ace here in type and see me for the true smart ace i am. i pretty much think they accept me in spite of it. thanks guys!

chris, did you hear about that guy, a wells fargo exec that got beatin and killed outside the arco arena after a king's game a month or so ago? the guys who punched him turned themselves in and all the investigation turned up was the guy that died was crusin' for it. they interviewed people from the parking lot, and people seated near him during the game. they all pretty much said the same thing, the guy had it coming. he was enough out of line that his partner got out of the car when the cars pulled over and ran off. there has been alot about it here in the SR paper because the guy worked at a SR branch of WF.

no charges being pressed against the two guys who killed him. even when they got out witnesses said the WF exec was the aggressor til he hit the ground. the coroner said the fall and his hitting his head on the pavement was the "death blow"

Guess I can't recall a time when I threw the first punch, but now that I ponder it I guess I've been in half dozen brawls and fist fights. Once when out reposessing a car in an apartment complex, three drunk Mexican guys recognized the car I was securing and told me to leave it alone...I told 'em to mind their own business and they seemed to wander off. One of 'em circled around and started wrestling me for my big steel rod that I use to load the tow dollies, then he starts kicking me. Having had enough, I used the bar (which he was too dumb to let go of) to twirl him, drop him, and come down on top of him. While I heard his ribs cracking (I'm about 275 and came down square on the bar which was now across his chest), I saw his buddies, who looked completely uninterested a moment ago, were running into it. Realized too late that dropping with the guy was a big mistake, by then the cowboy boot from one of the others had already broken my nose. When blood gets in your eyes and you're not ready for it, it is a real shocker. I rolled off the guy and got up fast, trying to find a stance through my bloody eyes while telling them I'd had enough...I was spewing blood all over the place and it was running down my throat from when I'd been horizontal, and I had no interest in taking on the other two. Turned out to be a non-issue as the apartments had lit up by that point, people shouting out the windows about calling the cops. Guys all ran off...well the first guy sorta lurched off. I figured it hurt him more to cough for the next few months than it hurt me to sneeze or blow my nose, so it was all good. Cops took a report but never made any arrests. Oh, I got the car I was after too. When the debtor called a few days later, I complimented him on his loyal friends.
