UM,what is Calc 3? I only remember 1 year of Calculus, then differential equations, numerical analysis, non-euclidean geometry, advanced math for applications, anyone of those?

Screw it all, I've decided to become a musician.

My problem with much of this is application, or lack thereof. In the case of something relevant, I will go out of my way to learn what is necessary. Really though, anything that is directly relevant to my field I will re-learn, and then practice until I master. Case in point, Calc 3 starts out with vectors, cross products, etc, but all of this basic relevant information is re-taught at the beginning of Statics. My other problem is taking too much class over the summer, and I often end up putting aside Calc 3 (irrelevant) for Statics (very relevant). I'd rather keep my A in Statics and have a mastery of the material to take with me to Dynamics and get a C in Calc 3.

As for what is Calc 3, it's....um.....the class after Calc 2 and before Differential Equations.

David, thanks, I'll drop you an email. Now it's off to homework!

What do you cover in calc 3? My calc 3 class covered vectors just enough to jump into flows across planes in 1, 2 and 3 dimensions. Not to mention the analysis of different products and designs. What engineering degree are you pursuing? If its aeronautical you will need that knowledge as the basis to understand the computer software later on. All of my AE/AME friends really drilled hard on calc 3 because they knew what came later. Calc 3 is learning the process and why you do what you do.

Yeah, it's AE. I can see where some aspects will maybe come up later, I guess we'll see.
