Are we approaching the record amount of replies to a post yet?

randywebb 01-16-2006 04:10 PM

Somebody wave this thread into the pits...

JCF 01-16-2006 04:15 PM

Funny how those who hate it so much keep coming back for more ; myself included.
please someone save us from ourselves.

i love it

i think some of these posts are the funniest i've ever seen, the thread was started lightheartedly and i'm sure the overwhelming amount of replies were meant the same way, some are hilarious! o, and by the way, never wave at a cop no matter how cool his patrol car is, he will suspect you of something. I just got my 2nd 944, a n/a '87, my son and i were driving on the highway to the shop and he refused to wave back at me from the '89 S2. That's the last time i let him drive that one!

I now offer mugs and commuter mugs too...

svandamme--a free mug for you. lighten up.

I was/still am amazed at the reaction this thread caused. Don't take yourselves too seriously. You're not defined by the car you drive...

Time to put this to bed. No more posts, please. It upsets too many members with no sense of humor.

Great thread, but as for who gets what kind of wave. I’ll take a big grin anytime, especially if it’s “girl” driving. The bigger the grin the more you know the other person/she wants to play, or they’re just letting you know how much fun they had on their last run.

Almost forgot, 1976s Rock and yes its true, some P-cars suck…

But then, everyone is a critic.

glenndeweirdt 01-17-2006 10:37 AM

OKAY Who ressurrected this from the dead!!!

I have now relegated my T-shirts (Thanks Christian!) to night-night duty for my six year old.

How about a new thread on my patented and simplified system for rating female attractiveness? The Porsche theme would be a stretch unless it were to rate attractiveness of females riding in Porsches. For females DRIVING Porsches-please see the original post

Glenn out!

It was Porsche's top of the line model all 18 years of production.
I love my '88 Carrera, I love my '88 944 - But my '74 914 is without a doubt the funnest car of the three to drive. It's simple with no frills but it will out handle the others, hands down - I'd race a 928 up or down a mountain anyday!

"The 914 is the ugliest, most useless piece of crap Porsche (or should I say VW) ever put out."

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, especially if its a 914 GT.

Too each his own - time to go wax my 924.

P.S. I took my 914 out on a club drive with many cars with 2 to 3 times the hp. Sure they could drop me straight line, but in the twisties, there was no shaking me. A 996 owner came up to me when we were though and said, "I kept waiting to see you disappear, but you were always right in there." I answered something like, "Yeah that's because I was peddling as fast as I could with the car at redline 80% of the time." It was a hoot. (It would have been fun in my 911, but not nearly the challenge, and wouldn't have had the satisfaction of keeping up.)

randywebb 04-27-2007 11:22 AM

I think the 914 looks like a really sleek toaster...

- those who know the history of its design will appreciate that comment...

RSBob 04-27-2007 11:24 AM

WHAT ABOUT "WANNA BE PORSCHES?" ie. KARMANN GHIAS???????http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1177702091.jpg

RSBob 04-27-2007 11:40 AM

It is a well known fact that Karmann Ghia owners have the biggest penises of them all! (914 owners are a close runner up - unless they also have a 911, which then makes them normal sized, but we still use them to wave.)

lhoudyshell 04-27-2007 12:01 PM

But, but, whatever happened to the flash of the lights to fellow p car people, and where does the early 912 fit in? Lynn

JCF 04-27-2007 12:11 PM

Love the 914
Love the 912
LOVE THAT GHIA !
