Sure I understand. Kinda like walking up to a serious discussion and puking on everyone's shoes. If you want a diversion, there are witty ways to do it and there are dull ways.

And I picked up and brought it back to politics, Hee Haw = Cheney voter

To spell it out further, and staying in historical context, Richard Pryor = Hillary voter

You know that's Holy Grail, right?

As far removed from Hee Haw as Paris Hilton is from her virginity

Well considering that the entire thread was started as a semi-troll to try and pick a fight with conservatives I don't feel terribly sorry for the person who started the thread.

Ah. I was reading along, enjoying the exchange while in the back of my mind remembering Cool's objective with this tread and then I ran across this. BINGO! Yes, I laughed out loud. And the really silly thing is.....I'm certain Mul was serious.

As long as the electorate is more interested in national sports teams than in informing themselves about politics, this will continue.

How do we make politics important to Joe Sixpack?
I wonder how many of you understand how insightful Techweenie really is. I have enjoyed very much his input here for quite a long time, and he's WAY more informed than any of the rest of us. This post is an illustration of that insight.

And to answer, Tech....I don't know. But I do still hold out hope (it's a sickness I have.....this faith in the country Mul thinks I hate). And I wonder if the Web will change my country's cycle of politics/power/propaganda. Those many of you who regurgitate the "liberal media" propaganda will not get this at all, but frankly the media is incredibly soft on Dubya and all of politics. A real impartial media would hold those folks (including and especially Dubya) responsible and it would look to many of you like a crucifiction. An actual liberal media WOULD BE a crucifiction. It'd be WAY different from the kind of reporting you see now. And you wouldn't like it during times when your party is in power.

Impossible, unless nostatic buys more guns and starts a revolution.

My mother agrees.
This from a woman who has just "launched" the paperback version of her book (can you launch a book when it has already been launched?) which is nothing more than an attempt to get a second cut of earnings out of the last couple of years of columns she has written. Only about 10% of the columns are even relevant to the so-called title of the book.

She does what she does for the money, and for no other reason...

And as I continued to read through this thread, I watched Tabby successfully pull Cool's chain. He's like that, Cool. Trust us. His actual politics are still a complete mystery. He's here to rattle our cages. That's how he gets wood. Sort of a Hannibal Lecter, only with an appetitie for attention.

Actually that was not my intention. It's a genuine question. My goal isn't to "pick fights."

To me, it's like the democrats touting equal rights, then finding the democrats in power having slaves for the last 50 years.....

It was in the hopes that eyes would be opened. Once eyes are opened, unified people demand change. If all that was perceived is trolling, then I'm sorry, I've failed....and now give up...there is no hope...

Ahh, he didn't "succeed." If that's all he has to offer, then, eh. Whatever.

Ahh, I"m still here, trying to hang in there, praying we can survive until 2008, since you guys don't appear to care about rampant spending.....

No chance in hell that's going to change with people like you around.

And the "flat tummy" was a reference to not being pregnant, like shoes was a reference to not being barefoot.
