The traditional means of Pork-ufying a bill is to add a rider on to it that's unrelated (some of the Iraq defense spending bills had egregious pork added) and that gives future political campaigns the ability to say the other side "didn't support (motherhood/apple pie/supporting troops)". As long as the electorate is more interested in national sports teams than in informing themselves about politics, this will continue.
How do we make politics important to Joe Sixpack?

I just think Women should stay at home and make sandwichs, they shouldn't bother their silly little heads with something they just don't understand!....
But for the men on this Board it's simple....cut taxes and spend like crazy, so that when the Dems get in they are hamstrung with paying off the debt...and then they can't spend. so simple really...
