Hillman Aero Minx? Tim |
Yes, Fiberglass, no metal at all except for the front and rear sub-frames.
Paul Haussauer the ex-Lotus designer who was the brains behind it, was very close to making a carbon fiber race version, but did not have the $s. BTW, it had a Hillman Imp engine & running gear. |

Tim is right again.
It's another stunning car - I want one. Do you have: A) A stunning knowledge of cars B) A very efficient system of reasearch or C) Some trick that your not going to let on about I'm interested to know whether you're some car genius... The Clan Crusader was close to a Davrian. I remember pouring over Kit Car magazines back when I was growing up and know I recognized it as a Kit, just couldn't place it. Who's next? |
Wow, Tim stumped us again......
Here's an easy one for us: http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1171478400.jpg |

They was the option of buying one in several pieces and assembling them yourself. This got around the 25% tax. When the tax system changed they were all factory built. They were also successfully crash tested at M.I.R.A. |
I know it's not strictly speaking my turn, but here's one that I stumbled across while looking for something else...

It's fairly ugly, my first thought was that I don't want to know what it is. But then I thought it would be best to know so I don't ever buy one by accident. Is it Eastern European? |

YES!
A BSA-9 Patrol Car 1930-1936. Interestingly, the first two letters of UK registrations are allocated according to county, the "VV" on the plate of this car designates Northamptonshire - that's my home county! This car is a Police car from the county where I grew up! In fact I found that exact picture on www.northants.police.uk So here's a hard one... http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1171584702.jpg ...and an easy one! http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1171585108.jpg |
1: MG---Q type? supercharged anyway but the twin spares throw me a bit, looking for a boat tail.
2: Wolsely imp/Rily Elf |
Bob,
It's a good news / bad news type of thing; The good news is you're part right about the second one. There was a Hillman Imp, but it isn't one of those. So is it a Wolseley (what) or a Riley Elf? You can tell the difference. I'm guessing some of these made it over to the USA? |
Was it Hornet?

Alvis 12/70 special?
