Ed's car is strange. I would assume it is either a concept car or a custom, I was thinking along the lines of a Cadillac laSalle although the sides of the car don't look right. I have also found some Chryslers that are similar but nothing with such a distinctive grille. The 'V' grille and badge over it do hint at Cadillac though. I would guess it's from about 1956 give or take and American.
|
Hubcaps look vaguely Cadillac as well.
Any hints, Ed? Tim |
Some hints:
A transatlantic creation. Designer's eponymously named company is still in business, and its web site displays this very car as an example of its design prowess. At least two were built, at least one survives today. |
Woohoo

Your car Ed is a 56 Cadillac die Valkyrie. I knew the caps and v8 emblem screamed caddy, but had to pinpoint the details. |
Ja!
Design: Brooks Stevens Execution: Spohn of Ravensburg |
didn't Brooks Stevens design the Excalibur too?
|
Sweet, I have one I have been waiting for! I will post it in a few minutes.

New car
OK, here we go. I used to think the 1957 Testarossa was the absolute sexiest car ever, until I saw one of these a few years ago. Stunning car! And interesting history as well...

Bizzarini.
There was a silver one on my neighborhood when i was a kid that I used to lust after.... Tim |
Crap. You got it Tim. I saw a red 5300 at a car show when I was a kid. Man, that was an awesome car.
Good job anyway! Your turn. |
american V-8 if I remember.
|
|
Looks like it could be an early Mazda by the taillights?
|
Alfa based B.A.T. ? (Berlinetta Aerodinamica Tecnica)
|
Perhaps the Fiat Osca 1500 prototype (also a BAT derivative)?

Definitely not Japanese. Tim |
Could be (BTW we must send the secret police to see if Tim is a person or a supercomputer loaded with all cars out there :D )
I think BAT due to the rear treatment (perhaps that's what Tim was counting on). So I guess I'm wrong then? |
