everything in moderation (political confusion)
I'm not particuarly interested in politics, however I'd thought I'd share an opinion or two, perhaps some people can agree with me or educate me more.
Being a Republican, based on what I've seen seems fundamentally about trying to maintain a level of personal success and/or power despite who or what it might harm or effect. They seem to blindly follow and never question. That said, I hate close minded rednecks who think that "the gay" is going to rub off onto their children. Being a Democrat seems to mainly agree with policies and agendas that seem to tax exorbitantly and re-distribute that money into programs which dont seem to work. Most seem rather hypocritical in how they intend to make said programs work. That said, I hate uneducated tree hugging hippies. Dont even get me started on Greenpeace. These are merely generalizations, however to me at least, it seems that there really isnt any difference between the way the two parties do buisiness. I read the political posts here and many of you are very intelligent and well-spoken. I guess I'm just wondering why someone of intelligence would bother to affiliate themselves with parties that dont seem to be proactive at all, but continuing the tradition of bending over the average American, forgetting the lube and having at it. I personally dont see how anyone could agree with Ann Coulter, or support Michael Moore for that matter. As for my own beliefs, I'm certianly not either. I do believe in owning automatic rifles and sipping Jack Daniels while helping the gay unborn spotted whales burn a doobie if thats any indiction of my politics. I guess I'm looking for others here who feel the same. Last edited by Jared at Pelican Parts; 11-28-2005 at 05:03 PM.. |
